Job Description: A&H Claims Specialist How does this role contribute to our collective success? This role contributes to AXIS’ collective success through maintaining and promoting a market leading claims service to support clients’ complex risks and challenges and in so doing to support the retention and acquisition of business. What will you do in this role? Handle Accident & Health claims which will include disability claims under either Temporary Total Disability (TTD) of Permanent Total Disability (PTD) across a diverse A&H portfolio of sports, crew, aviation (Pilot Loss of License). Role will also require review of complex or sensitive claims from the travel portfolio reporting to the A&H Claims Manager. Work closely with clients, underwriters, TPAs/DCAs, market leaders, internal stakeholders and brokers as well as assisting with the management of TPA service providers and external bodies to ensure a premier claims service to clients is maintained. Handle claims in a lead capacity from first advice to final settlement including full analysis of coverage and liability, reserve evaluations, formulating resolution strategy and liaising with risk managers, in house counsel and experts including high value, complex claims under supervision of A&H Claims Manager Handle Lloyd’s Syndicate as well as IUA and company claims. Liaise with respective underwriters on wording/policy issues, provide claims info and attend client meetings as appropriate. Engage with other stakeholders, including claims operations, underwriters, actuaries and Internal Audit in relation to claims information, MI and other projects to elevate claims performance. About You: We encourage you to bring your own experience and expertise to the table, so while there are some qualifications and experiences, we need you to have, we are open to discussing how your individual knowledge might lend itself to fulfilling this role and help us achieve our goals. What you need to have: Proven experience in dealing with Accident & Health and travel claims 5 years + Excellent written and verbal communication skills & ability to to liaise with numerous customers, both internal and external. Ability to develop and sustain relationships with internal and external stakeholders. Ability to prioritise and organise workload and work independently and as a wider strategic team member. Ability to exercise sound judgment. Working within a team where service delivery, customer/stakeholder outcomes and quality service is the driver for success and efficiency. What we prefer you to have: Ideally you will have worked in a syndicate, company or a broker and gained sufficient practical experience in the market place to independently perform the above duties and responsibilities. Knowledge of CLASS/ECF2/DOCOSoft. Experience with Excel, Word and PowerPoint. Professional qualification MDI, ACII or transition towards III qualifications Role Factors: In this role, you will typically be required to be in the office 3 days per week.
