Job Description
Who we are looking for

The Senior Director, Operations Strategy and Business Process Excellence is a senior enterprise leadership role combining three core mandates: Enterprise Business Process Ownership (BPO) leadership, M&A integration leadership and Chief of Staff partnership to the Chief Operations Officer. The role exists to drive strategic alignment, execution discipline, and enterprise-scale value creation across the operations portfolio.

As a trusted advisor and force multiplier to the COO, this leader shapes strategy, enables effective decision-making, and ensures the organization’s highest priorities are executed with rigor. The role requires the ability to move fluidly between enterprise-level strategy and hands-on execution, balancing long-term value creation with near-term results.

What you will do

The role provides enterprise leadership for business process excellence, overseeing a small team of Enterprise Business Process Owners accountable for critical end-to-end processes. This includes establishing clear ownership, governance, performance management, and continuous improvement to drive efficiency, scalability, and standardization.

The Senior Director also serves as the operations integration lead for mergers, acquisitions, and other strategic transactions, owning integration planning and execution, integration governance, operating model alignment, and value capture in close partnership with business and functional leaders.

Across all dimensions, the role partners closely with leaders across IT, Data, Analytics & AI, Supply Chain, Procurement, Global Business Solutions, and Real Estate to align strategy, execution, and operating models—delivering measurable impact across strategic priorities, process performance, and integration outcomes.

What you will be responsible for

Enterprise PMO Leadership

  • Lead the Enterprise PMO, a small team responsible for advancing cross-functional, enterprise initiatives.

  • Establish governance, prioritization, reporting, and escalation processes to support effective enterprise program execution.

  • Ensure enterprise initiatives are well scoped, appropriately resourced, and supported by clear milestones, dependencies, and decision points.

  • Partner with functional leaders to identify risks, manage tradeoffs, and remove barriers to execution.

  • Develop and maintain enterprise dashboards and updates that connect initiative status to business outcomes.

  • Provide regular progress reviews and recommendations to senior leadership.

Enterprise Business Process Ownership Leadership

  • Lead a small team of Enterprise Business Process Owners responsible for critical end-to-end business processes that span functions.

  • Establish clear accountability for process design, governance, performance measurement, and continuous improvement.

  • Partner with business and functional leaders to identify process pain points, risks, inefficiencies, and standardization opportunities.

M&A Integration Leadership

  • Lead integration planning and execution for mergers, acquisitions, and other strategic transactions, in close partnership with business and functional leaders.

  • Develop and manage integration governance, workplans, decision forums, reporting, and issue resolution to support value capture and operational continuity.

Chief of Staff

  • Serve as a strategic partner and trusted advisor on the organization’s highest-priority initiatives and decisions.

  • Lead and manage special projects across areas such as strategy, operations, transformation, and organizational effectiveness.

  • Drive cross-functional initiatives from ideation through execution, ensuring clear communication, execution discipline, and measurable outcomes.

  • Prepare briefing materials, pre-reads, presentations, and decision support for business reviews, steering committees, and executive discussions.

  • Help translate leadership priorities into action through planning, follow-up, governance, and accountability.

What we value
  • 10+ years in leadership roles interacting with senior teams and leading enterprise initiatives during periods of transformation. Typical prior roles include Director- or senior Director-level leadership roles in strategy, consulting, operations, transformation, program management, or process excellence.

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, Finance, Operations, Information Systems, or related field required.

  • Travel: Ability to travel domestically and internationally as business needs require.

  • Exceptional organizational, project management, and program governance skills.

  • Strong business acumen and ability to analyze data, assess tradeoffs, and support executive decision-making.

  • Gravitas and interpersonal skills to engage senior leaders internally and externally.

  • Demonstrated experience managing complex enterprise programs and leading through influence across multiple functions.

  • Experience driving business process ownership, continuous improvement, or operating model change.

  • MBA or advanced degree preferred.
