Job Description
Buenos Aires is one of JP Morgan's key strategic hubs with over 3,500 employees supporting different areas like Operations, Technology, Finance, Credit Risk, Human Resources, Legal... among others, providing value-added services, products and solutions to our clients located in various countries around the world.
The Check Services Team is responsible for processing the release of outgoing checks and the deposit of incoming checks, processing returns, voids and stops of payments, processing reconciliation for both outgoing and incoming checks and the assistance to LOBs and other Operations Teams.
Job Responsibilities:
  • The review or incoming JPMS LLC checks, the release of check jobs - if applicable.
  • The process of return of funds of already deposited checks.
  • The stop of payment for outgoing checks.
  • The redeposit of funds for voided checks.
  • The balance and reconciliation of Ops domestic bank accounts, for both incoming and outgoing checks.

The Check Services Team is constantly searching and working on improvements and growth, such as automations or implementing industry changes in order to provide the customer a better experience. Every team member has the opportunity to suggest or participate in any ongoing project for innovation or automation.
The main aim is for every member to get an end to end knowledge of all the processes and functions performed in the department. In order to achieve this, cross training is implemented in a monthly basis, giving the team resiliency tools for back up.
Skill Development/required skills
  • Written and oral English skills (used on daily basis with the US counterparties when performing callbacks and sending emails to Financial Advisors and Contra firms)
  • Client/customer focus.
  • Ability to prioritize workload from different sources.
  • Able to deal with deadlines to meet the daily cut offs.
  • Able to quickly adapt to different scenarios as per the internal client requirements, industry changes and procedures
  • Problem solving. Able to identify potential issues and find solutions to escalations that may arise.
