Purpose of role

Linklaters are delivering an ambitious transformational change programme to re-imagine the way that our Business Teams work with the practice to deliver an exceptional client experience. The programme is central to the achievement of the firm’s strategic ambitions.

As a key member of our programme team, the Change Manager is responsible for managing the design and implementation of a comprehensive change strategy and associated plans in support of the deployment of a new operating model.

You will work closely with our programme leadership team, workstream leads, third parties and senior management and leaders across our Business Teams functions.

Key areas of responsibility:

  • Develop change management strategies.
  • Develop and implement supporting change management and communications plans, aligned with the programme objectives, scope and timelines.
  • Conduct stakeholder analysis and change impact assessments to identify key audiences, needs and identify key programme risks.
  • Identify and mitigate cultural and behavioural change management issues.
  • Develop and own key elements of the programme’s stakeholder management plans, engaging with key stakeholders to build awareness, generate interest and drive commitment to the programme.
  • Monitor and measure the impact and effectiveness of the change and communications activities and adjust the plan as needed.
  • Evaluate and monitor organisational change readiness.
  • Design and implement a post-implementation support strategy to ensure the changes are embedded.
  • Identify programme-related training and development needs, managing and/or engaging with other subject matter experts lead the creation of suitable materials and manage the delivery in line with programme timeline.
  • Provide change management and communications guidance and support to key stakeholders.
  • Input into integrated programme planning activities and support the provision of timely programme reporting.

Characteristics, skills, and experience required:

  • A minimum of five years’ change management and communications experience, preferably with direct experience of managing transformational change through new target operating model implementation and end-to-end process transformation.
  • Experience developing and implementing change and communications strategies and plans in complex, global organisations. Experience in legal services or a professional services partnership environment is preferred as is experience of behavioural change programmes.
  • A change management certification (e.g. APMG or similar) with knowledge of change management principles, methodologies, and tools.
  • Experience of organisational design concepts is highly desirable
  • Familiarity with project management approaches, tools and phases of the project or programme lifecycle.
  • An ability to understand different cultural / local issues, whilst maintaining a focus on global solutions.
  • A proactive and action-oriented approach, driving progress via self and others.
  • Excellent attention to detail and able to communicate effectively at all levels - clearly and succinctly conveying ideas and options.
  • An inclusive style, aware of the needs of, and supportive of, team members.
