About Group Procurement 

Group Procurement at LSEG manages third-party supplier engagements, partnering with the business to deliver high performance and sustainable value. We view our suppliers as strategic partners and sources of competitive advantage—not merely cost centres. Our operating model is built around business partnering and supplier relationship management (SRM), aligned to stakeholder groups and spend categories, enabling early engagement and data-driven decision-making. 

With a global supplier base of approximately 5,000 and annual spend of £2 billion, the team is structured into three core towers—Technology, Services, and Corporate—supported by a Strategy & Performance Centre and a Third-Party Risk Management (TPRM) team. Key hubs are located in London, Bangalore, and New York, with decentralised support across Europe and Asia.  

Role purpose

Provides specialist procurement expertise and insights for the Technology Services category within the Services Tower with the express intent of delivering year-on-year value-add to the Group, taking ownership of sourcing, supplier relationship management and business partnering for a defined sub-category of spend. Predominantly supporting the Engineering organisation. 

Role Responsibilities

  • Owns a L3 category of spend and holds accountability for the category spend and sourcing activity, supplier relationship management and business partnering for a defined sub-category of spend; 

  • Develops and owns a dynamic Category Strategy. 

  • Works with Category Leads to support people development (experience and skills) for senior buyers within the same category (where applicable); 

  • Acts as business partner to stakeholders, working closely on requirements gathering and negotiations and takes responsibility for the procurement aspects of strategic and/or commercial projects; 

  • Requires risk management or appropriate involvement and maintains up-to-date knowledge of procurement process developments to support stakeholders; 

  • Ensures application of appropriate governance, risk management and controls in line with internal and external policies; 

  • Supports the execution of the wider procurement strategy and transformation roadmap to develop a best-in-class function. 

Qualifications & Experience: 

  • Experience in procurement / category management essential; 

  • Experience in Technology Services procurement desirable but not essential; 

  • Educated to degree level; 

  • Procurement / supply operation qualification, e.g. MCIPS or IAACM (desirable); 

  • Experience in similar industry. 

  • Experience of senior stakeholder engagement (preferably at C-level)
