Position Summary
The Capital Audit & Assurance Manager is accountable to the Global Supply Chain to provide independent oversight and assurance over the financial and engineering aspects of capital projects within the Global Supply Chain.
The job holder will ensure site teams and project practitioners are fully aligned & compliant with all delivery through the Project Management Framework (PMF) and GSKs Finance Manual. In addition, if non-compliance is identified the job holder shall support a detailed Corrective and Preventative Actions (CAPAs) plan, working with sites to remediate the findings in a timely manner.
The implementation and direction of capital project methodology is available throughout the company as a measurable standard from both an engineering delivery and financial control perspective.
All the above will follow the GSC Engineering & Finance Capital Assurance Procedure contained within the PMF as Tool 1H.
Reporting through the Director of Capital Strategy and Project Execution the individual will provide performance and progress up-dates through the Engineering Compliance Council.
Responsibilities
Lead the Engineering & Finance Capital Audit and Assurance programme
Being a Subject Matter Expert (SME) in end-to-end Capital Delivery
Produce an audit and assurance plan for controlled delivery as per the required timelines within the GSC Engineering & Finance Capital Assurance Procedure tool 1H
Execute the plan against tool 1H,for capital portfolios and projects covering financial management, project governance (PMF), and engineering quality
Perform detailed reviews of sample projects through all project phases with alignment to requirements contained within the PMF.
Evaluate accuracy of project control deliverables and application. Verify that change control, deviation management, and project validation processes are robust and well-documented.
Assess procurement and contracting practices with alignment to the GSK TPRM process and contracting strategy.
Review engineering design assurance, qualification (DQ/IQ/OQ/PQ), and technical documentation for adherence to PMF, GMP and GSK engineering standards.
Review and assess compliance with GSK construction and EHS standards and application
Identify any key risks across financial, PMF, and regulatory through delivery approach.
Work collaboratively with senior stakeholders in Finance, Engineering, Quality Assurance, and Operations.
Support root cause analysis and corrective actions where significant project or control issues arise
Document and track any findings through detailed CAPAs.
Support sites, manufacturing group engineering leads (MGELS) and Global Capital Projects (GCP) project teams to deliver CAPAs
Report CAPA progress through the Director of Capital Strategy & Project Execution to the GSK Engineering Compliance Council and be able to communicate findings and recommendations clearly and constructively to Site & GCP project teams, project sponsors, MGELS & senior stakeholders
Act as compliance manager and contact for the GCP department, liaising as necessary with engineering compliance and the global ethics and compliance departments, including GSK central Audit and Assurance teams
Strong analytical and investigative mindset.
Excellent stakeholder management and influencing skills.
High attention to detail and strong understanding of control frameworks.
Ability to translate complex engineering or financial issues into clear, actionable recommendations.
Broad experience spent in delivery globally with different cultures and working practices
Project experience through time spent delivering capital projects on a live manufacturing site
A professional project certification, such as Association of Project Management Chartered Status ChPP
Strong written and verbal communication skills, particularly in audit reporting.
Integrity, professional scepticism, and a proactive approach to audit and assurance.
Work Location:
This role is based in the United Kingdom (GSK HQ, London) and offers a hybrid working model, combining on-site and remote work.
