Job Summary
As a Capital Analyst, the jobholder facilitates the build, maintenance, parameterisation, documentation, and running of the models to support risk and capital management at IGI. Training and development support will be provided as part of the role.

Key Responsibilities

Build, operate and maintain the stochastic capital model using Tyche software and deterministic regulatory and rating agency models using Excel and Psicle software to meet management needs in terms of economic capital, ensure methods and assumptions used are appropriate

Maintain and enhance the governance around documentation and change control

Source, validate and automate data inputs feeding into the stochastic and deterministic models

Perform regular recalibration of the capital model, develop expert judgements and prepare reports and presentations for senior management

Support the production of the risk and capital analytics to support key decisions across the organisation e.g. business planning, reinsurance strategy and other ad-hoc business request

Maintain and improve the production of quarterly and annual calculations for regulatory and rating agency submissions

Work together with other members of the risk management, exposure management and actuarial department and with all other business units to ensure effective communication within the firm in layman’s terms

Key Attributes & Professional Qualifications

Prior track record of capital modelling within P&C sector is desirable but not essential (Lloyd’s / London Market experience is desirable)

Coding skills in at least one of these programming packages is desirable – R, Python, VBA, Igloo or Tyche

Excellent verbal and written communications skills in English, and the ability to work in a multicultural environment. Ability to turn actuarial jargon into layman’s language
