Role Summary and Purpose

  • The role is for a qualified actuary, focused on supporting the capital management of Arch Insurance International.

  • Ensure compliance with all industry legislation, regulation, codes of practice, guidance and Arch Group controls relevant to the role

  • Assist Arch Senior Management in evaluating strategic business choices on the basis of capital considerations

  • Embed Arch International’s capital model in the business

 

Key Tasks and Responsibilities

 

  • Assist the Head of Capital to manage day-to-day activities of the capital team in light of all regulatory and other deadlines

  • Provide people management to direct reports and/or technical support to junior members of the team

  • Assist in managing third party communication in light of process improvement process and other projects as required

  • Assist Head of Capital with moving beyond regulatory capital requirement calculations and ad hoc outward reinsurance assessment

 

Role Requirements & Skills

Skills / Competencies
  • Qualified Actuary with at least 3 years post qualification experience

  • Technical leader with detailed knowledge of stochastic modelling techniques and insurance to maintain, run and develop the capital model

  • People manager

  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal

  • Knowledge of PRA / Lloyd’s requirements

Qualifications
  • Fellow of the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries, or equivalent

Experience
  • Experienced Capital Management Actuary

  • Experienced people manager

  • Good working experience of capital modelling software experience.  Tyche experience is desirable but not necessary.
