BDUK is recruiting for a Capability Enhancements Programme Lead guiding the development and delivery of Key capability upgrades across the Chinook & Apache platforms
The successful candidate would be a part of a dynamic team with access to varied work and opportunities to progress their career alongside the growth of the business. Other requirements include excellent interpersonal, communication and time management skills, with a strong knowledge of functional disciplines and experience of managing supply chain partners. This position requires a subject matter expert in programme and project management with extensive experience in leading large, complex international programmes to ensure delivery against our customer commitments.
A proven work history is required in a programme management environment and in executing complex programmes, ideally with a background in managing programmes within the Defence Aerospace sector and more specifically Rotorcraft. The ideal candidate will already be familiar with a wide range of specialized process tools, and materials, including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, SharePoint and Boeing or industry recognised systems to manage risks, issues & opportunities, contracts, change processing and estimating.
Responsibilities:
• Leads others and directs all phases of assigned cross-organizational or business unit projects demonstrating proficiency in all project management areas in accordance with accepted project management standards in the industry (e.g., PMI, Project Management Body of Knowledge [PMBOK], ANSI, and ISO standards).
• Manages large scale complex projects in support of the business unit's (i.e., BCA, BDS, SSG) goals and objectives.
• Span of control extends across multiple organizations.
• Oversight, and management responsibility (including performance mgmt & reporting) for a portfolio of medium to large projects in support of the business unit's (i.e.,BCA, BDS, SSG) goals and objectives.
• Identifies key stakeholder project specific objectives and requirements.
• Ensures assigned individuals are executing the identified and assigned tasks and providing appropriate tracking and reporting per plan.
• Authorizes baseline plans and revisions. Provides in-depth analysis of project culminating with lessons learned and historical reports for incorporation into future project plans.
• Provides assessment of team performance to appropriate management.
• Consults with executive leadership and integrates organizational strategy and company initiatives to develop project deliverables.

Programme Management Best Practices - Knowledge of Boeing or equivalent industry recognized Programme Management Best Practices and theory.
Basic qualifications and Experience:
• Experience working with and partnering cross-functional teams on projects and initiatives
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in a dynamic environment
• Able to collaborate with multiple stakeholders in different global environments and time zone
Preferred qualifications and Experience:
• Candidates will ideally have a Bachelor's or Masters degree or equivalent with work experience in the defence / aerospace industry.
• Other desirable qualifications include an accredited Programme Management qualification APMP, PRINCE2 Practitioner, Attended Boeing PMW classes.
The Capability Enhancements Programme Lead will be based either in the USA at Ridley Park, or in the UK at Middle Wallop or Gosport with travel required to other alternate sites e.g. Bristol, RAF Odiham and Yeovil in the UK and Mesa in the US to support face to face meetings as required.
