Support hardware development by calibrating and maintaining lab test equipment, building wiring and test fixtures, reworking PCBs (0201), running and logging automated tests, capturing oscilloscope traces, debugging hardware, managing lab supplies and inventories, and ordering components.
Job Description
As a Lab Technician working for a leading is a semiconductor company that develops accelerators for AI and machine learning based Bristol but with also offices London, you will be working closely with the hardware development team to support the development of the clients Machine Learning Accelerator Products.
- This will involve the management of calibration and maintenance of lab test equipment such as high speed oscilloscopes, bit error rate testers, vector network analysers, digital multimeters, power supplies, data acquisition systems etc.
- Support to the engineering team by making wiring looms, replacing components and reworking printed circuit board assemblies, running tests on client’s products, logging test results, debugging hardware Issues.
- Equipment calibration and maintenance
- Making of custom wiring and test fixtures
- Maintenance of lab stores of tools, components, cables etc
- Running automated tests
- Capturing oscilloscope traces of signals
- Debugging printed circuit boards
- Tidying benches & storage areas
- Ordering components & lab supplies
- keeping track of lab stocks of development boards, components
Skills and Experience:
- Ability to rework components at 0201 case sizes
- Ability to make measurements with digital multimeters, oscilloscope.
- Organisational ability to work around development team requirements when booking equipment maintenance and calibration
- Strong written and oral communications, team-working and interpersonal skills
