Buyer - Accessories (Own Label)

We are recruiting for a Buyer to lead our Own Label Bags and Accessories team. You will take ownership of the range plan and the open to buy budget to develop and build and develope a comprehensive product range for Harrods Own label that achieves the business’ brand ambition and strategic direction.

About the Role  

As Buyer for Own Label Bags and Accessories, you will proactively manage the strategy, development and execution of the brand and production proposition through the team. You will ensure that the brand strategy is achieved across all channels (store, online and airports) and operational models. 

Working closely with the Buying Manager and Head of Buying you will ensure all decisions are commercially sound, drive trade and ensure an optimum customer experience. 

You will also:

  • Have ownership of the Critical Path from concept through to arrival in store/online ensuring speed to market.
  • Compile comprehensive and clear design briefs for our design team working collaboratively with design and technical teams to develop and sign off the product
  • Plan and select product according to customer demand, trends, budget, and divisional strategy across channels and locations.
  • Monitor, maintain and action competitor analysis
  • Identify and retain strong working relationships with suppliers and will be accountable for end to end contract negotiations, onboarding and renewals.
  • Collaborate effectively with key internal stakeholders; merchandise, studio, visual merchandise, .com, marketing sharing appropriate information
  • Manage all aspects of the Assistant Buyers roles and tasks

About You  

You will have expert knowledge of the buying cycle and have experience, preferably in luxury retail. You will have a good understanding of a corporate business, our customer profiles and strategic development. You will be commercially aware, able to demonstrate when you have driven trade across your current department and have impeccable relationship building skills. 

You will also have:

  • Previous experience in Buying, preferably in luxury Accessories industry.
  • PC literate, including Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel. 
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Strong numeracy and analytical skills.
  • A creative mindset
  • Strong commercial and business acumen.
  • Strong customer service focus when dealing with both internal and external parties.
  • Excellent time-management skills and the ability and willingness to multi-task.
  • Flexibility and readiness to adapt to changing priorities.

You may be required to travel frequently both within the UK and Internationally.
