As a function of Datadog’s Go-to-Market (GTM) Enablement and Business Value department, the Business Value team partners with sales teams to deliver impactful business cases that justify customer investments in Datadog. Our team plays a key role in supporting value-selling practices across the sales organization. From executing ROI/TCO value models to supporting internal programs, we help quantify the impact of our products for high-level decision-makers.
The Opportunity:We’re seeking an analytical and collaborative Business Value Associate based in New York City. You will partner with our customers and sales teams to build business cases that quantify the business value our products deliver. This customer-facing position involves collaborating cross-functionally with Sales, Post-Sales, and Marketing to help scale the business value function. In this role, you will gain hands-on experience in value engineering while providing customers with visibility into the financial impact of digital transformation.
You Will:- Support business value assessments for key deals, working with strategic customers to identify their business drivers and quantify the ROI of Datadog products.
- Execute in-depth ROI/TCO value models to provide clear financial justifications for prospective and existing customers.
- Assist sellers in running discovery sessions with technical and business stakeholders to uncover their key objectives and measurable outcomes..
- Prepare executive-level presentations and narratives for CxOs, ensuring data is clear, accurate, and compelling.
- Perform data-driven analyses in support of sales opportunities to identify where Datadog can optimize a customer's business operations.
- Contribute to the development of materials (e.g., talk tracks, templates, and calculators) to continue to scale the Business Value Program globally.
- Partner on field enablement efforts by helping deliver value-selling training and maintaining knowledge management resources for sales teams.
- Drive adoption of Datadog’s value-selling selling methodology through consistent engagement with the field.
- You have 4+ years of professional experience in business value, management consulting, IT consulting, or sales operations.
- You hold a BA/BS in an analytical field (Economics, Finance, Engineering, etc.).
- You have a strong consultative mindset and are comfortable building and explaining financial models.
- You possess strong verbal and written communication skills and are comfortable in client-facing environments.
- You are adept at building relationships with internal sales teams and acting as an advisor.
- You have an interest in complex SaaS sales cycles and the ability to understand technical product concepts.
- Willing to travel up to 10% of the time.
- Advanced proficiency in Excel and data visualization tools.
- Experience in the cloud, monitoring, or observability space.
