About the Role

We are seeking a Business Program Manager to join our team. This newly formed role is critical to SSRN's progress in serving the scholarly community, researchers, and our users. The Business Program Manager will deliver key strategic projects. They will ensure projects are completed on schedule and are aligned with the critical needs of the business vertical or external customers. They will manage cross-departmental initiatives. They will oversee business-critical projects and initiatives, supporting OKR’s (objectives and key results). Additionally, they will set processes and quarterly strategic planning meetings and provide organizational support to the Managing Director.

Responsibilities

  • Planning, monitoring, and managing internal projects from initiation through completion.
  • Contributing to ideating projects.
  • Leading or coordinating project planning, resourcing, staffing supply.
  • Bringing stakeholders together to drive decision-making.
  • Creating and handling progress reporting and communication, troubleshooting, and people management.
  • Ensuring project results meet requirements regarding technical quality, reliability, schedule, and cost.
  • Monitoring performance and recommending schedule changes, cost adjustments, or resource additions.

Requirements

  • Have experience in business development, with a proven track record of successful growth initiatives.
  • Have Project Management skills. You have a proven ability to deliver key projects on schedule and manage cross-departmental initiatives.
  • Facility with or ability to learn SmartSheets and SharePoint.
  • Have strategic planning experience in managing an OKR setting processes and strategic planning meetings.
  • Have technical expertise. You have a deep understanding of project planning, resourcing, and management.
  • Are a problem-solver. You have the ability to troubleshoot and manage people effectively. You have  the ability to evaluate various potential solutions to problems.
  • Have exceptional communication skills. You have ability to tell project stories, create slide decks and talking points. You can understand and communicate to different levels of audiences.
  • Display deep attention to detail. You ensure project results meet high standards of quality and reliability.
  • Have people skills and experience matrix managing and influencing up, down, and laterally.
