Job Description:

Business Performance Analyst

Role Overview:  

We are looking for a Business Performance Analyst to support the EMEAI region of Advanced Materials at our Basel office. In this role, you will report to the Regional Business Performance Manager and play a key role in analyzing and reporting on the region's business and financial performance. This position involves approximately 10% travel to other sites across Europe.  

Responsibilities:

  • Provide support to the regional business to drive profit awareness and insight: Support regional Business Performance Manager on the preparation and analysis of Volume, Price, Direct Costs, and Contribution Margin performance and forecast planning.
  • IBP forecast: Take part in monthly IBP (Integrated Business Planning) forecast process and support demand and commercials team with outlook on variable production cost and business mix.
  • Orderbook execution monitor: Provide timely insights on order book performance to the regional leadership team. Work in proximity with commercial and supply planning team to improve order book movement visibility and delivery.
  • Fixed cost management: Support FP&A Manager and Plant Controllers with monthly site profitability and fixed costs analysis.
  • Project support: Assist in regional/global automation projects
  • Reporting: Timely delivery of monthly business performance outcome and monitoring against strategic plan/ budget /forecast.
  • Analysis and decision support: Support annual strategic (5-Year) planning process with setting up and maintaining template, data analysis, and reporting presentations for leadership teams.
  • Promote financial awareness: Improve understanding of financial parameters and translate financial data into business insight to influence business results.

Your profile:

We are looking for a self-driven, able to work independently and motivated business analyst with strong capacity to build relationships and ability to identify the data and support needed on all levels of the organization for achieving divisional objectives.

  • Minimum 5 years of business analysis experience. Having worked in chemical or industrial products manufacturing sector and within a complex and multinational organisation would be an added advantage. 
  • Education and prof experience: Degree in Finance or Business.
  • IT Skills: Excellent Excel, power point skills with working knowledge on intelligence tools like Power BI, IBM PA and Alteryx.
  • Ability to work Independent.
  • Strong analytical and conceptual thinking skill.
  • Willingness to embrace new technology.
  • Strong communicator, able to pass clear and compelling messages with all business functions.
  • Fluent in English (written & verbal), other European language would be an asset.
