Job Description:

We are seeking a Business Operations Specialist focusing on Financial Operations to support and optimize our global Engineering team. This person will report directly to the Senior Engineering operations Manager and will be responsible for driving key initiatives that enhance the performance, efficiency, and scalability of the engineering organization. The role will involve managing the capture and execution of OKRs, preparing high-level reports for the Executive Leadership Team (ELT), overseeing and optimizing key operational processes across various domains such as FinOps, Architecture, and Application Performance

Responsibilities:

  •  Process Optimization:
    • Work across teams to establish and improve best practices and processes in areas like Quality Assurance (QA), Financial Operations (FinOps), and Architecture.
    • Identify opportunities to improve workflows, reduce inefficiencies, and enhance team productivity.
    • Assist in the design and implementation of scalable and repeatable operational processes across the organization.

OKR Management:

    • Capture, track, and drive the execution of OKRs (Objectives and Key Results) for the engineering team.
    • Collaborate with leadership to ensure alignment between engineering goals and organizational priorities.
    • Regularly assess progress and ensure teams stay focused on critical objectives.

Reporting and Metrics:

    • Obsessive attention to detail. Able to quickly at a glance know that the numbers “don’t make sense”.
    • Prepare and present high-level performance reports to the Executive Leadership Team (ELT) that highlight key metrics, trends, and insights across the engineering department.
    • Drive data-driven decision-making by developing actionable insights and improving visibility into team performance.

Project Oversight:

    • Provide oversight for high-visibility or strategically important projects to ensure they meet milestones, budgets, and quality standards.
    • Coordinate with project leads to monitor timelines, identify roadblocks, and drive resolution of critical issues.
       

Skills:

    • Exceptional organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
    • Strong communication skills, with the ability to engage and influence at all levels of the organization.
    • Proficiency with project management tools (e.g., Jira, Trello) and reporting platforms (e.g., Tableau, Power BI).
    • Strong understanding of software engineering principles and the ability to translate technical processes into business impact.


Qualifications:

                     Experience:

    • 5+ years of experience in operations and a Finops Foundation Professional Certification , preferably within a technology or engineering environment managing Cloud and Vendor costs.
    • Proven track record of managing OKRs and driving cross-functional initiatives.
    • Strong experience with reporting, metrics analysis, and presenting to executive leadership..
    • Experience in process optimization, with a demonstrable understanding of SDLC, CI/CD, QA, FinOps, and General Software Architecture.
      Education:
    • A bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field. Advanced degrees or certifications in project management (e.g., Finops Foundation, PMP) are a plus.
