For everyone, everywhere.
More about our mission and what we offer.
Job DescriptionYour Mission
Wise has already pioneered new ways for people to transfer money across borders. Our customers can now manage their hard-earned money with the world’s first platform to offer true multi-currency banking.
As we expand our reach across the EU and UK, we need to ensure that every new licence, branch, and product launch is born scalable and compliant. Your mission is to be the "Operational Launch" architect. You’ll ensure that as we grow, our product doesn't just "exist" in a new market - it feels 100% domestic, follows local regulations, and is built to scale without adding operational debt.
The Role
This is a high-impact role at the intersection of Product, Operations, and Compliance. You aren't just launching a feature; you are building the operational engine behind it.
You will act as the central node, orchestrating primarily between our Global Operations teams (who keep the engine running), Product squads (who want to move fast), and our 2nd-line Risk and FinCrime teams (who ensure we stay safe). You will also partner with the wider Expansion team to align on regional strategy. Your job is to ensure that by the time we hit "go," the operational processes are resilient, the teams are trained, and the product is ready to scale. You’ll be the bridge that translates complex regulatory requirements into smooth operational processes.
What you will do:
Master the Blueprint: Own the end-to-end operational rollout for major initiatives, from branch expansions, new licences to major new products. You’ll define how the operational process works from day one.
Champion Localisation: Ensure our products aren’t just "global clones." You’ll work with Product to build local IBAN support, local payment schemes, and specific regional features that make Wise feel like a domestic bank.
Orchestrate Stakeholders: Act as the vital link between Operations, FinCrime, 2LoD, and Product. You’ll manage the friction between speed and safety to find the best path forward.
Design for Scale: Build the controls and processes that prevent "Operational Debt." You ensure that a launch today doesn't become a manual nightmare for our agents tomorrow.
Drive Data-Led Readiness: You don't guess - you use metrics to measure the success of a rollout and rigorously test that processes are operationally sound before they go live.
Translate Regulatory Requirements: Take "regulatory speak" and turn it into clear, actionable requirements for our servicing teams or product specifications for our engineers.
This role will give you the opportunity to:
Own the 0 ▶️ 1 Journey: We believe in autonomy. You’ll have the freedom to architect the operational flow for a new branch launch or a complex regional payment scheme from scratch.
Get Amazing Exposure: You’ll be at the forefront of Wise’s regional expansion, working on some of the most complex and high-stakes projects in the company.
Shape the Future of Banking: Help us build a globally scalable model that makes money without borders the new normal.
A bit about you:
GTM Specialist: You have a proven track record of setting up operations functions in high-growth, regulated fintechs, financial institutions or scale-ups.
High-Agency Generalist: You thrive in ambiguity. You don't need a manual; you prefer to build the operational blueprint yourself.
Highly organised: You add structure and clarity to ambiguity to empower teams to execute.
Expert Collaborator: You are a master at navigating stakeholder relationships. You know how to align teams with competing priorities toward a single mission.
Data-Driven: You use metrics to analyse friction and prove that your processes are efficient and scalable. Preferably, you are comfortable with SQL or eager to learn.
Systems Thinker: You solve for the root cause and understand that a well-designed process is the best way to manage risk.
Background: 5+ years of experience in Operations, Product, Program Management, or Special Projects within a regulated field or a scale-up.
Qualifications£84,000-£109,000
