About Us

Leona is on a mission to empower everyone to take the best care of themselves, their patients, and their loved ones. We have an ambitious goal: to transform the way the world interacts with healthcare. We strongly believe that where you live shouldn’t impact your access to high-quality care. For patients, it should feel empowering, and unintimidating, to proactively take care of yourself and your loved ones. For doctors, we want to enable you to focus on what matters most, delivering the best possible care, by providing better tooling, decreasing the administrative burden, and helping you to prioritize based on urgency and complexity while saving time and improving clinician quality of life.
We are reimagining how doctors provide care for their patients in an AI-first world. Our first product is a platform that streamlines Doctor-Patient communication via WhatsApp. Leona is designed to act as a doctor’s AI clinical assistant, automating and delegating non-urgent tasks, while allowing patients the convenience of reaching their doctors 24/7 via WhatsApp.
With bases in San Francisco and Mexico City, our diverse team brings together years of experience scaling tech companies like Rappi, Uber, Modern Fertility and Wonder throughout the US and Latin America. Leona is backed by top-tier investors such as General Catalyst, and Accel, as well as an incredible list of angel investors including the founders of Nubank, Rappi, Maven Clinic, and other successful technology companies.

If you are hungry to learn and build 0-1 at an early stage startup, while rolling up your sleeves to make some magic, this role might be the perfect fit for you!

At Leona, we’re reimagining how the world connects with healthcare—and you’ll be right at the center of it. As a Business Operations Associate, you’ll design the processes, insights, and strategies that keep us fast, efficient, and ready to scale

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collect, analyze, and interpret data related to operational performance, patient outcomes, and key performance indicators (KPIs).

  • Create and maintain comprehensive dashboards and reports to monitor operational trends and identify opportunities for improvement.

  • Guide doctors through the onboarding process, from initial signup to full activation of their Leona account

  • Act as the main point of contact for a portfolio of new users during their first weeks on the platform

  • Provide regular performance updates to leadership and stakeholders.

  • Design streamlined processes that minimize errors, enhance results, and maintain both speed and reliability

  • Develop and implement strategies to streamline workflows, reduce costs, and enhance operational effectiveness.

  • Assist in the development of the company's strategic plan, working with senior leadership to define goals, objectives, and key initiatives.

  • Conduct market research and competitive analysis to identify growth opportunities and threats.

  • Collaborate with various teams, including operations, finance, growth, and product development, to align strategies and drive results.

  • Act as a liaison between different departments to facilitate communication and coordination.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in business, economics, engineering, or a related field

  • 0-2+ years of experience in operations analysis, strategy, or management consulting, preferably in healthcare.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Proficiency in data analysis tools and software (e.g., LLMs, Excel, SQL, data visualization tools).

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Project management experience is a plus.

  • Knowledge of healthcare industry trends and needs is advantageous.

What You Can Expect

  • Real impact from day one: From your very first week, your work will directly influence how doctors deliver care and how patients experience it. You’ll see the results of your ideas in real time in our fast-moving, early-stage environment.

  • Autonomy & Responsibility: You won’t be “just another cog in the machine”—you’ll own projects, make decisions, and have the guidance and support you need to drive them forward. You’ll be empowered to execute your ideas for maximum impact

  • Thriving in Ambiguity: As an early-stage startup, not everything will be defined—and that’s part of the adventure. You’ll help design the path forward, turning uncertainty into opportunity and ideas into reality.

  • Continuous Growth: You’ll learn fast—about healthtech, about startups, and about yourself. Every project will push you to grow new skills, take on new perspectives, and raise the bar for what’s possible. As Leona grows, so will you

  • Learning & Development: We invest in your growth through mentorship, training, and exposure to new challenges. You’ll have the chance to work alongside experienced leaders and gain skills that will stay with you for the rest of your career.
