Role purpose
The Business Manager is responsible for making the Delivery function run smoothly, predictably and transparently.
Working directly for the Chief Delivery Officer, the role owns the day-to-day operational backbone of the Delivery organisation: embedding the new operating model, ensuring accurate and trusted data, establishing repeatable processes, and enabling leadership to run the function using clear insight.
This is a hands-on, highly visible role that sits at the intersection of people, process, systems and data, supporting a ~180-person Delivery organisation distributed across the UK and India, spanning four delivery disciplines and three Heads of Delivery.

Key responsibilities
Delivery Data, Reporting & Insight
- Lead the rollout and embed automated reporting across all client engagements and Delivery teams.
- Ensure delivery leaders have timely, accurate and actionable insight into performance, risk and capacity.
- Define and maintain a single source of truth for delivery data.
- Enable analysis that highlights emerging issues early (capacity, margin, delivery health, resourcing pressure).
Kantata Ownership & Data Quality
Act as the functional owner of Kantata for the Delivery organisation. Ensure Kantata is:
- Set up optimally across all active and new projects
- Used consistently across teams and regions
- Producing accurate, trusted data
- Refine standards for project setup, forecasting, resourcing and tracking.
- Monitor data quality and intervene where accuracy or discipline drops.
Month-End Delivery Process
- Design, implement and own a Delivery month-end process.
- Define what “good” looks like for:
- Project status
- Forecast accuracy
- Resourcing and utilisation
- Financial and delivery confidence
- Develop or select tools, templates and dashboards to support the process.
- Ensure month-end becomes a repeatable, low-friction rhythm.
Process Design & Continuous Improvement
- Lead significant process definition and improvement work across the Delivery function.
- Document and communicate:
- How we run delivery
- How we manage engagements
- How decisions are made and escalated
- Reduce dependency on tribal knowledge by making processes explicit, usable and embedded.
- Continuously refine processes as the function scales and matures.
Governance & Leadership Support
- Support Delivery governance forums, including:
- Leadership and management meetings
- Portfolio and project reviews
- Operational and planning forums
- Ensure governance meetings are well-structured, data-driven and outcome-focused.
- Prepare materials, reporting and insight that enable effective decision-making.
- Track actions and ensure follow-through across the Delivery leadership team.
Stakeholder & Leadership Collaboration
- Work in close partnership with:
- The Chief Delivery Officer
- Heads of Delivery
- Discipline Leads
- Finance, People and Operations teams
- Act as a trusted operational partner to delivery leadership.
- Provide challenge where data, process or execution does not align to expectations.
