What you’ll do

The Business Intelligence Center (‘BIC’) supports AlixPartners’ global business development efforts. The team delivers intelligent research, identifies new potential business opportunities, supports pitches, analyses market trends and tracks competitor activity.     

As a Data Analytics and AI Specialist within the Business Intelligence Center, you will play a crucial role in driving data-driven insights and AI-driven solutions to enhance our offerings and optimize our BIC operations. This role is perfect for an individual with a passion for data analytics, artificial intelligence, and machine learning, seeking to leverage these technologies to solve complex business challenges.

The Data Analytics and AI Specialist is a full-time role located in London and reports to a Business Intelligence Director or Business Intelligence Manager.

  • Support the development and implementation of machine learning models to analyse various data sets, providing actionable insights to support business decisions.
  • Provide support to Industry/Service offering teams to support new business opportunity identification/screening leveraging predictive analytics and ML techniques.
  • Support in developing client presentations to pitch for new business opportunities.
  • Provide ad hoc business development support and research assistance to the various communities utilizing advanced statistical methods and machine learning models.
  • Translate business requirements into actionable data insights and AI models.
  • Drive the adoption of AI-driven strategies across BIC operations.
  • Identify opportunities for AI integration to enhance BIC research processes.
  • Use advanced analytics tools (e.g., Python, R, SQL, Tableau, Power BI) to analsze, visualize, and interpret data.
  • Support efforts to continuously innovate and improve analytical processes using ML, ensuring the delivery of high-quality, adequately tested, timely projects.
  • Conduct research using various research tools including Capital IQ, Bloomberg, Factiva and Statista to gather and pre-process data for ML and AI applications.
  • Perform complex data analysis using various data sets and work with external research providers to ensure quality and timely delivery of financial, situation and performance analysis and research.

What you’ll need 

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Engineering, Statistics, or a related field.
  • One (1) year of professional experience.*
  • Demonstrated performance in roles focused on AI, machine learning, and advanced analytics.
  • Professional services experience preferred.
  • Proven experience applying AI models and data analytics to solve business problems across various industries.
  • Strong knowledge of data manipulation, analysis, and visualization techniques.
  • Excellent analytical skills with experience in statistical methods and machine learning techniques.
  • Experience with data visualization tools like Tableau, Power BI, or similar.
  • Proficiency with Alteryx is a plus.
  • Knowledge of cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and big data technologies is a plus.
  • Ability to find creative and practical solutions, and a desire to innovate and improve status quo for betterment of the team.
  • Sound judgement, common sense, problem-solving ability.
  • Committed to the success of the team, ability to cooperate with others and work across boundaries to engage with colleagues to get things done.

  • Assure the quality and timely completion and delivery of projects including prioritizing projects during peak activity times.
  • Ability to communicate complex problems to non-data science business stakeholders.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Willingness to work outside of normal business hours, and in particular as unique projects/needs arise.
