As an Outbound BDR for the DACH region, you are the engine of our growth in one of our most strategic European markets.
You won’t just be "making calls"—you will be the face of SolarWinds for potential customers in Germany, Austria, and Switzerland. You will proactively identify, research, and engage key stakeholders, navigating the unique business landscape of the DACH region to spark interest in our simple, powerful, and secure solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Strategic Prospecting (DACH): Execute multi-channel outbound campaigns (phone, email, social) tailored specifically to the professional standards and business etiquette of the DACH market.
- Account Mapping & Research: Deep-dive into targeted accounts to identify key decision-makers. Leverage AI and prospecting tools to identify "intent signals" while maintaining a highly professional, localized approach.
- Technical "First-Touch" Demos: Conduct high-impact, 5-minute product demonstrations in both German and English. You must be able to show immediate value to technical audiences, proving how SolarWinds solves complex infrastructure challenges.
- Lead Qualification: Research and qualify prospects to ensure they meet technical and business requirements before handing them over to the Sales Representatives based in our Berlin hub.
- Pipeline Management: Maintain 100% CRM hygiene in Salesforce. Submit weekly and monthly "pipe create" commits to ensure a predictable and transparent handover process.
- Market Feedback: Act as a bridge between the DACH market and our global teams, providing feedback on regional customer needs, local compliance concerns, and competitor trends.
- Success Metrics & KPIs
SQLs (Sales Qualified Leads): Number of qualified opportunities accepted by the DACH sales team. - Outbound Velocity: Consistency in localized outreach (calls and emails) within the targeted German-speaking territories.
- Pipeline Value: Total dollar value of the pipeline generated for the Berlin-based sales organization.
Your Experience & Skills
Basic Qualifications
- Linguistic Mastery: Native or near-native (C1/C2) fluency in German and professional proficiency in English. You must be comfortable conducting technical demos and negotiating in both languages.
- Proven Track Record: 1–2 years of experience in lead qualification, outbound sales, or as an SDR/BDR.
- Self-Starter Mentality: An enthusiastic approach to creating interest in prospects and a passion for navigating the complexities of the DACH business environment.
- Tech Literacy: Proficiency with Salesforce (or similar CRM tools) and the Microsoft Office suite.
- Interpersonal Excellence: Exceptional communication skills with a refined "Business German" style—understanding when to be formal and how to build trust with technical stakeholders.
Preferred Attributes
- DACH Market Knowledge: Familiarity with the regional nuances of German-speaking business cultures (e.g., the importance of data privacy/GDPR and local industry standards).
- Resilience: A "hunter" mindset with the ability to handle rejection and pivot strategies to break into competitive accounts.
- Collaborative Spirit: Ability to work seamlessly with a remote or hybrid team, specifically supporting our sales teams in the DACH region.
