We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Business Development & Marketing Specialist to join our Global Customer Enablement (GCE) team located in the Tonsley Innovation District (SA).  The successful candidate will participate in business development processes and interface closely with country specific marketing and commercial teams to understand customer needs and help drive growth with innovative programs that create demand and grow the business.

The key responsibilities for this position include (but are not limited to):

  • Participate in GCE business development processes
  • Provide support in the development of client proposals and ensure they are consistent with regional business and marketing strategies
  • Help drive growth in regional business units with development and implementation of regional customer initiatives
  • Support marketing and communication activities with key accounts
  • Provide input and support for GCE marketing programs (internal & external platforms)
  • Assist in the overall design, development and implementation of marketing materials and activities
  • Create digital assets for customer use and support global roll-out
  • Prepare internal communications as needed
  • Liaise and manage performance of third-party contractors and suppliers to ensure high quality outcomes
  • Support event management as required
  • Assist the Customer Enablement team with strategic development

The key requirements for this role include:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Marketing, Communications, a Business Degree or similar
  • Previous experience in strategic marketing and business development
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in marketing, business support or communications
  • Knowledge of the optometry market, ophthalmic lens products and manufacturing processes is desirable
  • Broader knowledge within the optical / pharmaceutical / medical / health industries also beneficial
  • Strong strategic and commercial capability
  • Sound technical and business development skills
  • Excellent written and oral communications skills
  • Professional customer (internal and external) interfacing skills
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment with a positive “can do” attitude and a strong focus on customer delivery.
  • Display a creative nature and ability to use initiative
  • Understanding of ophthalmic optics desirable
  • Experience working with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Knowledge of WordPress website development platform
  • Experience with Adobe Suites (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, Premier/After Effects) desirable
  • Available for international travel on an as needed basis
  • Available for some afterhours work for international collaboration, including meetings
  • Compliance with all Work, Health, Safety & Environmental requirements within the workplace
