About Customs Support Group

Customs Support Group (CSG) is Europe’s leading independent customs services provider. Founded in 1964, we operate in 14 European countries with 100+ offices and a team of 1,700+ customs professionals.

We help companies move goods across borders smoothly and compliantly, taking the pressure out of customs.

What we do: We support more than 60,000 clients and process over 20 million declaration lines each year.
From day‑to‑day customs declarations to compliance, duty optimization and trade advice, we make cross‑border trade easier and more predictable.

How we work: We combine local customs expertise with modern digital tools to handle large volumes accurately and at speed.
Our technology helps teams work smarter, reduces manual effort, and improves turnaround times. In markets like the UK, this already led to clear productivity gains.

Why it matter: Customs rules are becoming more complex and mistakes are costly. Delays, compliance risks and unclear regulations can slow businesses down.
CSG helps clients stay compliant, reduce risk and keep their supply chains moving.

Why Join Us

At CSG, you will be part of a growing international organization that is improving how customs work gets done.

You will:

  • Work with experienced customs professionals and technology teams

  • Gain exposure to international trade and complex supply chains

  • Contribute to services that have a real impact on global commerce

This is a chance to build a career in a stable but evolving industry, where expertise and good judgement still matter.

Purpose of the position

As a Business Development Manager at Customs Support Group, your focus is simple and powerful: drive growth. You will win new customers, expand existing relationships, and push our customs solutions deeper into the UK market. This is not a static company and definitely not a dusty industry. Customs is moving fast, global trade never sleeps, and neither do opportunities.

You will take a strategic, hands-on approach to business development. From researching new sectors to solution-led selling, you will position Customs Support Group as a trusted partner rather than just a service provider. You will own your pipeline, lead conversations with decision-makers, and turn complex customs needs into clear, value-driven solutions.

Main Responsibilities
  • Build, manage, and progress a strong sales pipeline in Salesforce, ensuring accurate activity tracking and forecasting.

  • Identify, qualify, and pursue new business opportunities across key industries using market insight and value-based selling.

  • Develop and grow long-term relationships with new and existing clients and partners, acting as a trusted advisor throughout onboarding and beyond.

  • Represent Customs Support Group at industry events, trade shows, and networking opportunities to strengthen market presence.

  • Collaborate with internal teams and international offices to share leads and support cross-border growth.

  • Present pipeline performance, sales activity, and market insights to management using CRM dashboards and reports.

  • Monitor industry trends, competitor activity, and regulatory developments to uncover new sectors and growth opportunities.

  • Sell solutions through a consultative, value-led approach focused on real customer needs.

  • Manage multiple priorities effectively in a fast-moving, target-driven environment.

  • Apply strategic thinking and creativity to tailor solutions and unlock new revenue streams.

  • Build trust-based, long-term client relationships through consistent delivery and strong communication.

  • Use commercial and technical understanding to position customs solutions across diverse industries.

What to Expect
  • A fully remote role with flexibility to work from home while staying closely connected to clients and internal teams.

  • Regular travel across the UK to meet clients, attend events, and drive business development activities.

  • Occasional travel within the EU as the role and opportunities evolve.

  • A dynamic, deadline-driven environment that rewards ownership, resilience, and results.

  • A collaborative, growth-focused team committed to delivering high-quality customs services across Europe.

  • At least 3 years of experience in business development, account management, or a similar commercial role.

  • Proven track record of winning new business and growing revenue through a strong commercial mindset.

  • Confident communicator, able to influence stakeholders at all levels.

  • Experience working with CRM systems and sales tools, supported by solid Microsoft Office skills.

  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively across teams.

  • Aligned with Customs Support’s vision to make customs easy for global trade.

  • Committed to quality, compliance, and continuous improvement.

  • Driven by accountability, integrity, teamwork, and ownership of results.
