Role: Business Development Manager

Location: London

Hours: 35 hours (full-time)

Role Overview

We are looking for a driven and commercially minded Business Development Manager to join the team behind LAMMA — the UK’s leading agricultural machinery and equipment event.

Reporting to the Portfolio Director, you will play a key role in driving the continued growth of the event through proactive sales activity, new business development and strong account management.

This role focuses on identifying new commercial opportunities, building strong industry relationships and delivering revenue growth across exhibition space, sponsorship and partnerships.

You will work closely with marketing and operations teams to ensure exhibitors achieve strong ROI from participating in LAMMA.

Key Responsibilities

  • Generate revenue through the sale of exhibition space, sponsorship and partnerships
    • Proactively identify and convert new business opportunities within the agricultural machinery and supplier markets
    • Develop and manage a pipeline of prospects through outbound sales activity including phone, video and face-to-face meetings
    • Build strong relationships with exhibitors and industry stakeholders to maximise retention and long-term value
    • Understand client objectives and recommend solutions that deliver measurable ROI
    • Accurately forecast sales performance and manage pipeline activity through CRM systems
    • Represent LAMMA and Agriconnect at industry events, meetings and trade shows
    • Monitor industry trends and competitor activity to identify new growth opportunities
    • Work collaboratively with marketing and operations teams to ensure a successful exhibitor experience

Skills & Experience

  • Proven experience in exhibition sales, event sponsorship sales or B2B media sales
    • Demonstrated success in meeting or exceeding revenue targets
    • Strong new business development and relationship-building skills
    • Confident communicator with excellent presentation and negotiation skills
    • Ability to understand client needs and develop commercially effective solutions
    • Highly organised with strong time management and pipeline management skills
    • Experience using CRM systems for sales tracking and forecasting
    • Interest in or knowledge of the agriculture sector is desirable
