Purpose of the role

We are seeking an ambitious, results-driven Business Development Manager - Digital Risk & Advisory for BSI Digital Trust across the UK and Ireland to spearhead the growth of our digital risk and security testing services. This role is designed for a "hunter" sales professional, who thrives in identifying, pursuing, and closing new business opportunities, with a focus on security testing and digital risk advisory services. Once a sale is closed, the new business will be handed over to a Business Development Manager (BDM) to manage client relations.

The ideal candidate will be proactive, strategic, and have a deep understanding of the cybersecurity landscape. You will play a critical role in expanding our client base, positioning BSI as a trusted partner for organisations seeking to manage digital risks and enhance security in both the UK and Ireland.

Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities

  • New Business Development: Drive the sales strategy and actively hunt for new business opportunities across the UK and Ireland markets, focusing on security testing and digital risk advisory services.
  • Lead Generation & Prospecting: Identify and engage potential clients, develop relationships, and generate high-quality leads within target industries, including finance, healthcare, retail, and more.
  • Solution Selling: Understand customer pain points and requirements to present tailored security testing and digital risk advisory solutions that align with client needs.
  • Sales Strategy & Planning: Develop and execute a comprehensive sales strategy to meet and exceed revenue targets, identifying key prospects and building a strong pipeline.
  • Relationship Building: Build and maintain relationships quickly with decision-makers and key stakeholders, ensuring BSI becomes the preferred partner for security and digital risk solutions.
  • Negotiation & Closing: Manage the full sales cycle from lead qualification to closing.
  • Collaboration with BDMs: Work closely with Business Development Managers to hand over closed deals for seamless post-sale transition, ensuring a smooth client experience.
  • Market Intelligence: Keep up-to-date with the latest trends, threats, and innovations in the digital risk and cybersecurity market, ensuring BSI remains a market leader.
  • Reporting & Forecasting: Provide regular updates on sales pipeline, progress toward targets, and market insights to senior management.
     

Key Performance Indicators

There are 4 key metrics you will be measured against, these are:

  • Number of New business sales meetings
  • Pipeline development
  • Sales Revenue
  • Forecasting accuracy
     

In Addition to these, there are additional KPI’s you will be asked to adhere to which include, CRM administrative tasks, training/personal development.

Qualifications
 

Cybersecurity Knowledge: A strong understanding of security testing, risk management, and digital transformation challenges, including familiarity with methodologies such as penetration testing, vulnerability assessments, and digital risk advisory.  Technical cyber security or IT background preferred.
 

Proven Sales Success: Seeking candidates with 5 years of demonstrable experience in new business sales, ideally in the cybersecurity, digital risk, or IT services sectors, with a strong track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets.
 

Self-Driven & Results-Oriented: Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and deliver results in a fast-paced environment.
 

CRM Proficiency: Experience using CRM tools (ideally Salesforce, ZoomInfo etc.) to manage leads, opportunities, and sales pipeline.
 

Language requirements: English

Client-Centric: A consultative approach to selling, building rapport and trust with clients at all levels of an organisation.

Exceptional Communication: Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex solutions in a clear and compelling manner.
 

Education & Qualifications
Educated to degree level or an equivalent professional standard is ideal

Relevant certifications (e.g., CISSP, CISM, or related certifications) are a plus but not essential.
