About the Role 

Reporting to the Commercial Manager we are seeking a Business Development Manager (QLD/NT/Data Centres) to drive profitable sales growth for Warren & Brown Technologies, JCS and Prysmian solutions within the Australian data centre market across Australia and all markets within NT/QLD, engaging operators, consultants, contractors, integrators and network infrastructure 
providers. 

What You'll Do

  • Develop and execute a growth strategy aligned with company sales and margin objectives.

  • Manage and ensure a strong pipeline of quotes, tenders and projects across all markets in QLD/NT plus the national data centre market as aligned by appropriate KPIs

  • Deliver agreed revenue, gross margin, new-business and strategic-account objectives.

  • Identify and track upcoming data centre developments, expansions, fit-outs and upgrade projects.

  • Build and maintain relationships with End Users that include but not limited to hyperscale, colocation and enterprise data centre operators.

  • Develop relationships with EPCs, contractors, installers, distributors and systems integrators.

  • Engage consultants, network architects, engineers and project managers during design and specification stages.

  • Prepare and deliver customer presentations, product briefings, lunch-and-learns and product demonstrations.

  • Promote Prysmian’s data center and connectivity solutions including fibre optic connectivity systems, structured cabling, data centre copper solutions, fibre management systems and related infrastructure products.

  • Work with engineering and product teams to develop technically appropriate and commercially competitive solutions.

  • Coordinate internal resources to support quotations, samples, technical submissions and project delivery.

  • Maintain an accurate opportunity pipeline, project register, CRM records and sales forecast.

  • Provide market intelligence on customers, competitors, technologies, standards, pricing and industry trends.

  • Markets in QLD/NT include but not limited to communications, mining, utilities, defence, government, telecommunications, data centre, transport and industrial markets.

  • Take reasonable care to ensure the health and safety of self and others

  • Report Injuries and Identified Hazards

  • Follow Prysmian OHSE Policies and Procedures.

What You'll Need to Succeed:

  • Tertiary qualifications in business, economics, or similar field is preferred but not essential.

  • 5 to 10 years of managerial experience in business development in connectivity across a range of industries that can include data centres, mining, telecommunications, utilities, defence etc

  • Strong understanding of the datacenter sector and market dynamics.

  • Excellent negotiation, problem-solving, and time management skills.

  • Drive for results with a focus on business acumen and customer satisfaction.

  • Commitment to self-development and continuous improvement.

  • Competencies in systems such as Microsoft Excel, Word, Powerpoint, Outlook.

  • A Valid Drivers licence
