Job Description

This role is based in our 240 Blackfriars / office.

We are seeking a confident, focused, and business driven person who enjoys cultivating client relationships within a diverse customer base, as well as ensuring customers receive an excellent service in on-site events and digital events and products. 

You will be responsible for selling sponsorship and exhibition packages, primarily across our two flagship European events – BIO Europe and BIO Europe Spring. There will be additional opportunities to cross-sell across the rest of the portfolio. The main focus will be on account management of an existing group of clients. That includes rebook, upsell, cross-sell, delivery. The aim is to build and maintain strong, long lasting customer relationships. Your strengths include building and executing new business development strategies to grow and expand new and existing customers. 

You’ll need to be organised, extremely proactive, adaptable, professional and personable and you’ll need to relish a demanding fast-moving environment and opportunities to work outside your comfort zone and learn new skills. Most of all you’ll need to be an exceptional team player – always willing to go the extra mile to ensure a task gets done.

Contracting and execution (80%) 

  •  Manage incoming leads, answer customer's questions via e-mail and phone 
  • Actively maintain sales pipeline opportunity stages 
  • Keep up-to-date records of activities, opportunities, and accounts in our CRM systems  
  • Research and understand customer needs and translate these into an individual offer of our products and services to meet customers’ objectives. 
  • Work  with other Account Managers to help drive team goal achievement 
  • Collaborate with other team members to identify areas of improvement and to identify and grow opportunities 
  • Monitor and execute the rebooking process for future events  

 

Event Support and  Other (20%) 

  •  Work with other event teams (content, marketing, operations, and customer service) to ensure all elements of the client’s package is fulfilled as promised. 
  • Steer the fulfilment of exhibitor services at live and virtual events according to their contracts. 
  • Write and proofreads templates relating to sponsor and exhibitor sales and delivery  in collaboration with team members. 
  • Attend trainings as required 
  • Attend conferences (Informa and competitor events) 
  • Handle other duties as assigned 

Qualifications

  • Experience working successfully in either event delegate or sponsorship sales (minimum of 18 months)
  • Demonstrable track record of hitting and exceeding personal or professional goals/targets
  • Comfortable with face to face selling
  • Self-motivated, comfortable working autonomously and able to multitaks
  • Highly creative and detail driven 
  • Proactive, adaptable and happy working in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Comfortable in an international environment 
  • Enthusiasm and a collaborative mind set
