About this role

This role is focused on business development across UK-headquartered marquee and enterprise clients, many of which operate with a significant global footprint.

This role sits within Preqin, part of BlackRock’s Aladdin Client Business. Together, we are transforming how private markets data and technology power investment decisions globally.

Preqin plays a critical role in expanding BlackRock’s private markets capabilities, complementing the Aladdin platform and helping clients view, analyze, and act across their entire portfolio. We are ambitious, collaborative, and deeply client focused — and we are just getting started!

Our mission is to create a better financial future for our clients. We are a diverse bunch of people who like to analyse, reinvent, and enhance how we work, and all in the pursuit of a better experience for our colleagues and clients. There are limitless problems to solve and opportunities for development, alongside a team of clever and caring colleagues. Our culture is based on respect, inclusion, diversity but also challenge and stretch and value feedback. We believe that people reach their best potential when the different facets of their home, work and community are all cared about. We can promise you a fun, fast paced work environment, offer competitive and innovative benefits, and the ability to define your role in pursuit of your aspirations.

Your Role:

As a Vice President within Preqin’s Business Development team, you will play a pivotal role in accelerating our growth across UK clients within our marquee and enterprise customer segment. While these firms are headquartered in the UK, many have significant international operations, and the role requires the ability to build and execute strategies that reflect the global nature of these relationships.

We are looking for a commercially driven, relationship oriented professional with demonstrable experience working with strategic, Tier 1 accounts. You will bring a proven ability to navigate complex client organisations, engage senior stakeholders, and execute enterprise sales strategies that create long term value for clients and meaningful growth for Preqin.

In this role, we trust you to make an immediate impact — generating new subscription revenue, building a strong and sustainable pipeline, and expanding existing client relationships in close partnership with our Aladdin Client Engagement colleagues.

You will be at the forefront of our go to market efforts across UK-headquartered marquee and enterprise clients, driving demand through targeted outreach, strategic lead generation, executive engagement, and relevant client and market events. This is a highly visible role with real ownership, autonomy, and the opportunity to shape how we grow within one of our most important client segments.

What you’ll be doing:
  • We’ll rely on you to own the full sales lifecycle, from first conversation to close — engaging senior decision makers, understanding client priorities, and delivering thoughtful, value driven solutions. You’ll actively develop new business opportunities while also uncovering strategic expansion opportunities within our existing client base.
  • A core part of the role will be building and executing enterprise account strategies for UK-headquartered, globally active firms. You will identify priority stakeholders, map decision making structures, develop account plans, and coordinate activity across Preqin and BlackRock teams to support progress within large, complex organisations.
  • You’ll bring Preqin’s products and capabilities to life, confidently articulating how we help clients solve complex challenges in private markets. This includes delivering compelling proposals, running impactful product demonstrations, and acting as a trusted partner throughout the buying journey — whether meeting clients in person or connecting virtually.
  • You will be expected to manage sophisticated sales cycles, negotiate thoughtfully, and progress opportunities with discipline and pace. Success in this role will require comfort operating across senior buying groups, procurement processes, legal and commercial discussions, and multi-threaded stakeholder engagement.
  • Above all, you’ll be a collaborative force: working cross functionally, sharing market and client insights, and contributing to a team culture that celebrates success and learns from every experience.
What we are looking for:
  • We’re excited to meet candidates who bring energy, curiosity, and a growth mindset, combined with meaningful experience in business development or account management within financial services, alternative investments, data, analytics, or B2B SaaS environments.
  • You will have a proven track record of delivering results with strategic, or Tier 1 client relationships — including experience developing account strategies, engaging senior stakeholders, and navigating complex sales cycles with multiple decision makers and influencers.
  • You understand how to create long term value for clients, identify cross-sell and upsell opportunities, and translate client priorities into commercially compelling solutions. Experience working with globally active clients, or accounts with international stakeholder groups, would be highly relevant.
  • You’re commercially savvy, analytically strong, and naturally detail oriented. You enjoy solving problems, take ownership of outcomes, and bring a disciplined yet flexible approach to managing priorities. Just as importantly, you care about being a great teammate — building trust quickly, collaborating openly, and contributing positively to team momentum.
  • Fluency in English is required. Strong proficiency with Microsoft tools (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and comfort with technology more broadly will help you thrive in this role.
