    Job Description

    • Job Title: Business Development Executive
    • Job Type: Permanent
    • Location: Hybrid - Ellesmere Port
    • Hours: 37.5
    • Salary: Competitive with 25% bonus + Company Car or Car Allowance 

    This is a newly strengthened, growth‑focused sales role created as part of SGS’s continued investment in expanding its Oil Condition Monitoring (OCM) capability. The role is designed for a true business hunter who thrives on opening doors, winning new customers, and accelerating revenue growth across key industrial sectors. With strong backing, resources, and a clear growth mandate, the role plays a critical part in scaling OCM services in line with SGS UK’s sales strategy and Responsible Sales & Marketing Policy.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Identify, target, and convert new OCM business opportunities, building a strong pipeline through proactive prospecting and outreach.
    • Drive market expansion by winning new customers across priority industrial sectors as part of a strategic growth investment.
    • Accelerate revenue growth within existing accounts by expanding OCM programmes and uncovering cross‑sell opportunities across SGS Industrial services.
    • Own the sales cycle end‑to‑end, delivering compelling technical and commercial proposals that clearly demonstrate value, ROI, and long‑term partnership potential.
    • Contribute directly to SGS’s growth agenda by consistently achieving sales targets and supporting wider expansion through collaboration and high‑impact business development activity.

    Qualifications

    Essential

    • Sales qualification or relevant demonstrable sales experience.

    • Full Driving Licence for use in the UK

    Desirable

    • Qualification in engineering, chemistry, mechanical, reliability, or related technical discipline.

    • Professional sales or account management qualification.
