The Opportunity
We’re looking for an ambitious, hands-on Business Development Manager to join our Retail Sales Team and play a key role in driving growth. This is an exciting opportunity for a commercially minded sales professional who thrives on building relationships, winning new business, and exceeding targets.
You’ll take ownership of developing a strong pipeline of direct customers while managing and growing key accounts. Working across the Wealth Management and Independent Financial Adviser (IFA) sectors in the UK, you’ll help ensure our clients receive outstanding value and return to us time and again.
This role suits someone who is hungry to succeed, motivated by targets, and eager to make a real impact in a market-leading business.
You’ll work closely with Sales and Support teams and report directly to the Sales Director.
Key Responsibilities
- Proactively identify, prospect, and secure new business opportunities across the UK Wealth Management and Independent Financial Adviser (IFA) markets
- Build and manage a robust sales pipeline through self-generated leads, cold outreach, networking, and relationship referrals
- Own the full sales cycle from initial contact through to negotiation, close, and post-sale account development
- Consistently achieve and exceed individual monthly sales targets and KPIs, contributing directly to wider team and company revenue goals
- Develop a deep understanding of Incisive Media’s products, brands (including Investment Week and Professional Adviser), and value proposition to confidently advise clients
- Manage and grow a portfolio of key accounts, nurturing long-term relationships and identifying upsell and cross-sell opportunities
- Work closely with the Sales Director to align activity with strategic growth objectives and support the evolution of the Retail Sales function
- Collaborate with internal teams, including marketing, editorial, and customer support, to deliver an exceptional client experience
- Maintain accurate records of activity, pipeline, and forecasts within the CRM system
- Provide regular feedback and insights to management on customer needs, market trends, competitor activity, and potential new products or services
- Represent Incisive Media professionally in all client interactions, helping to strengthen our position as a trusted market leader

- A proven track record in sales with consistent achievement of targets
- Highly motivated, target-driven, and commercially focused
- Strong communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills
- Organised, resilient, and able to stay calm under pressure
- Confident presenting to a range of audiences
- Excellent time management and planning skills
- Comfortable using CRM systems
- Open to feedback and eager to continuously improve
