To identify and develop new relationships, and maintain, deepen, and broaden existing relationships with key distributors in assigned territory or channel, in partnership with a regional business development manager.
We are looking for a new Business Development Executive to join our established, high performing team. They will work in partnership with a regional based Business Development Manager and will be primarily responsible for developing new and deepening existing relationships with financial advisors within a designated territory. The successful candidate will engage with clients mainly via telephone and Teams, with most face-to-face meetings delivered by their partner.
Core Responsibilities
- Develop, maintain, and broadens relationships with independent financial advisory firms. Gather thorough understanding of the philosophy and dynamics within these organisations.
- Supports smaller to mid-sized sales relationships, working in conjunction and under the guidance of regional based business development managers. Achieves sales and retention goals within the spirit of Vanguard's Code of Ethics.
- Supports regional BDM on a strategic sales plan to efficiently identify quality new business relationships and leverage Vanguard capabilities for maximum success.
- Drives results by raising awareness of Vanguard's investment capabilities and services through targeted prospecting activities. Prospect activities may include cold calling, targeted mailings, hosting seminars, and attendance at industry conferences.
- Arranges face-to-face meetings for regional BDMs monthly.
- Develops, maintains, and broadens relationships with prospects and client organizations. Gathers thorough understanding of the philosophy and dynamics of the prospects and client organizations.
- Acts as a trusted adviser to prospects and clients and positions Vanguard products and services effectively.
- Develops knowledge of regulatory environment and ensures that Vanguard operates in compliance with applicable regulations.
- Collaborates and provides insight and direction to internal partners.
- Participates in special projects and performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Undergraduate degree or equivalent combination of experience preferred.
- CII Certificate of Financial Planning qualified (or FPC). Diploma in Financial Planning (Dip PFS) or Investment Management Certificate (IMC) desirable.
- Minimum of five years financial services industry.
- Superior oral and written communication skills.
- Demonstrated executive presence, poise, and presentation skills.
- Ability to work independently and adapt quickly and resourcefully to changing situations while traveling for business.
- Excellent relationship management skills.
- Thorough knowledge of investments and competitive environment. Familiarity with Vanguard a plus.
- Good working knowledge of PC and MS Office software. Understanding of CRM systems.
