The Role

Business Development Analyst – Howden CAP

We are looking for a personable and highly organized individual to join Howden CAP (Capital, Advisory and Placement) as Business Development Analyst. This is very exciting role for a detail-oriented person looking to help with the strategy of a new business idea, which will help connect capital across the Real Estate Market.  You will also help support the wider team

The person will play a key role in day-to-day running and in supporting our Head of Real Estate (JT) for Howden CAP. As a Business Development Analyst, you will help with the strategy for the Howden Capital and advisory business, as well as business development support for the W&I team focusing on the Real Estate Sector

What you’ll do

  • Assist in the strategy and business plan for our Equity Advisory business

  • Keeping up to date with all deals going on in the market and seeking out opportunities

  • Fully understanding ‘Compass’ our sales tool and keeping relevant notes up to date

  • Pulling off data from Compass and turning it into neat presentations

  • Arranging meetings for Head of Real Estate and UK Warranty & Indemnity (“W&I”) brokers

  • Scoping out conferences to attend and ensuring attendees' schedules are filled with relevant meetings

  • Help draft a “Real Estate” report fortnightly to be shared with team  

  • Create meeting sheets for Head of Real Estate and UK W&I brokers for future meetings

  • Join internal and external calls to take detailed notes

  • Keeping the Real Estate introductory deck up to date

  • Work with the head of events to help organize Real Estate related events.

  • Attend various Real Estate focused Events and help with client entertainment.

  • Work closely with the CDI team to ensure real estate targets (funds/lawyers/agents) are mapped out in a structured fashion

  • Work closely with CDI team to ensure smooth running and organization of Real Estate related events

  • Work closely with CDI team to ensure Real Estate tombstones are kept up-to-date and needs/requirements of clients on all pitches, presentations and RfPs are met

Who we’re looking for

  • We need someone with excellent attention to detail, adept at performing administrative and organizational tasks

  • Experience with a support role within a sales/ Business Development environment

  • Good working knowledge of the Commercial Real Estate Industry and key players

  • Excellent working knowledge of Word/PowerPoint and Excel

  • A determination and ability to learn about real estate M&A – how deals are transacted and who are the key players.

  • Analytical, with an attention to detail

  • Ability to take on multiple tasks and prioritize appropriately

  • A team player with the ability to build relationships internally

  • Comfortable around clients and ability to uphold the Howden Values
