Dragonfli Group is seeking a Business Continuity Planner to support a large commercial enterprise in the energy sector in strengthening its enterprise business continuity and recovery capabilities. In this role, you will partner directly with business units and stakeholders to conduct Business Impact Analyses (BIAs), develop and maintain Business Continuity and Recovery Plans (BCRPs), support continuity program assessments, and facilitate exercises that improve organizational resilience and regulatory compliance. Your work will align with industry and regulatory standards including NERC CIP, FEMA, CISA, TSA, DHS, Texas RE, ISO 22301, and NIST guidance, and will contribute to a broader program spanning business continuity planning, emergency management, and cyber and physical security.

This posting spans early-career through senior professionals, roughly zero to three years through five or more years of relevant experience, with compensation and level of responsibility commensurate with the experience the selected candidate brings.

This is a contract position involving a large commercial enterprise in the energy sector. Candidates with previous consulting or contracting experience are preferred. U.S. Citizenship or Permanent Residency is required. If hired, all work related to this role must be performed within the continental U.S.



Job Responsibilities

  • Conduct Business Impact Analyses (BIAs) in partnership with business units to identify critical processes, dependencies, and recovery priorities.
  • Develop, update, and maintain Business Continuity and Recovery Plans (BCRPs) aligned to organizational and regulatory requirements.
  • Support continuity program assessments and identify gaps against industry standards and leading practices.
  • Design and facilitate tabletop exercises and other continuity exercises consistent with HSEEP methodology.
  • Draft After-Action Reports (AARs) and improvement plans following exercises, and track corrective actions to closure.
  • Support alignment of continuity and resilience activities with NERC CIP, FEMA, CISA, TSA, DHS, Texas RE, ISO 22301, and NIST guidance.
  • Collaborate with emergency management and cyber/physical security teams on integrated exercise design and plan development.
  • Communicate findings, plans, and recommendations clearly to business unit stakeholders and leadership.
  • Travel periodically to the client's site to support BIAs, exercises, and stakeholder meetings.
Requirements

Must-Have

  • Relevant experience in business continuity planning, disaster recovery, or emergency management commensurate with the level of this role. This posting spans candidates with up to 3 years of experience through candidates with 5 or more years; final level and compensation are based on years of directly relevant experience.
  • Demonstrated experience conducting Business Impact Analyses (BIAs) and developing or maintaining Business Continuity Plans / Business Continuity and Recovery Plans (BCPs/BCRPs).
  • Familiarity with regulatory and industry frameworks relevant to critical infrastructure resilience, including NERC CIP, FEMA, CISA, TSA, DHS, Texas RE, ISO 22301, and NIST guidance.
  • Willingness and ability to travel periodically to the central United States for on-site BIAs, tabletop exercises, and stakeholder meetings.
  • U.S. Citizenship or Permanent Residency.
  • Ability to perform all work within the continental United States.

Preferred

  • Certified Business Continuity Professional (CBCP), Master Business Continuity Professional (MBCP), or similar business continuity certification.
  • Prior experience supporting a utility, energy, or other critical infrastructure organization.
  • Experience designing or facilitating exercises using HSEEP methodology, including after-action report development.
  • Prior consulting or contracting experience.

Technical

  • Business Impact Analysis (BIA) methodology and tools.
  • Business Continuity Plan / Business Continuity and Recovery Plan (BCP/BCRP) authoring and maintenance.
  • HSEEP-aligned tabletop exercise design, facilitation, and after-action report (AAR) development.

  • General familiarity with continuity or governance, risk, and compliance (GRC) software and exercise-management tools.
