Business Applications Consultant (Microsoft)
Role Purpose
The Business Applications Solution Consultant is a hands-on technical and delivery leader.
Role is to design, build, and assure end-to-end Microsoft Business Applications solutions, including Dynamics 365, Power Platform and Azure, ensuring they are technically sound, business-aligned, and deliver measurable outcomes. Operating as both a trusted advisor and technical lead, the consultant works directly with Red Badger teams, clients, partners and Microsoft to shape solution, guide implementation, and ensure successful adoption.
Key Responsibilities
1. Solution Design & Delivery Leadership
- Lead solution design for client engagements across Dynamics 365 and Power Platform workloads.
- Translate business aspirations into end-to-end solution blueprints that are scalable, secure, and supportable.
- Actively participate in hands-on solution development, prototyping
- Power Apps, Power Automate flows, Dataverse customisations, and Azure integrations.
- Design integrations and data strategies leveraging APIs, and Dataverse integration .
- Define and maintain architecture documentation (HLD, LLD, integration diagrams, environment models).
2. Delivery Enablement & Technical Oversight
- Serve as the technical authority across projects reviewing and approving solution designs and extensions.
- Conduct regular solution assurance reviews, ensuring compliance with architectural standards and Microsoft best practices.
- Work with delivery leads to shape sprint planning, backlog prioritisation, and DevOps pipelines.
- Mentor consultants and developers, fostering technical excellence and delivery consistency.
- Troubleshoot complex technical and integration challenges during build and deployment phases.
3. Client Engagement & Advisory
- Act as a trusted advisor to client stakeholders, balancing strategic vision with practical delivery.
- Collaborate with Red Badger Product and Design teams to run design-thinking and discovery workshops to shape solution options and digital roadmaps.
- Present architectural recommendations and delivery approaches with clarity and authority.
- Support Red Badger business development activities, including pre-sales solutioning, estimations, and proposal creation.
- Articulate solution value in co-sell engagements with Microsoft and demonstrate alignment with the Microsoft Cloud roadmap.
4. Governance, Quality & Best Practice
- Define and promote governance frameworks for Power Platform environments, ALM, and DevOps.
- Apply the Microsoft Well-Architected Framework principles (security, reliability, cost, performance, operations).
- Ensure compliance with client security, privacy, and data standards (GDPR, ISO, etc.).
- Advocate for reusable components, accelerators and good practices across engagements.
5. Practice & Capability Development
- Contribute to the development of partner solution offerings, templates, and reference architectures.
- Stay current with Microsoft’s product roadmap, including Copilot, Fabric, and emerging AI capabilities.
- Share learnings through internal knowledge sessions, mentoring, and community engagement.
- Participate in Microsoft partner programs, certifications, and co-sell readiness activities.

Skills & Experience
Essential
- 5+ years of experience in Microsoft Business Applications Ecosystem (Dynamics 365 CE/FO/Project Ops, Power Platform, Copilot).
- Proven delivery experience within a consulting environment.
- Hands-on technical expertise, able to prototype, configure, and troubleshoot.
- Deep knowledge of Dataverse, Power Apps (Canvas and Model-Driven),
- Power Automate, Power BI, Copilot.
- Experience designing and integrating solutions with Azure services (Logic Apps, Functions, API Management).
- Proficiency in ALM practices using Azure DevOps, Git, and CI/CD pipelines.
- Strong client-facing communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Innovative solution centric mindset
Desirable
- Microsoft Certified: Power Platform Solution Consultant Expert or Dynamics 365 Solution Consultant Expert.
- Familiarity with Copilot, AI Builder, Power Pages, and Fabric integration.
- Experience in pre-sales, scoping, and estimation of Business Applications solutions.
- Exposure to co-sell processes and Microsoft Partner Center tools.
- Understanding of licensing models and cost optimisation.
