Tower Research Capital, a high-frequency proprietary trading firm founded in 1998, seeks a Business Analyst to join our Operations Team. The team is part of Tower’s Middle and Back Office (MBO) function which is a key part to Tower’s business ensuring the completeness and accuracy of Tower’s books and records and meeting the demands of a growing and complex trading business. 

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide data analysis and support for operations to improve the processing of financial transactions such as; trades, corporate actions, taxes, commissions/fees, and all other balance sheet impacting transactions.
  • Partner with developers, Project Management, Finance, Operations and other external custodians and vendor teams to drive solutions.
  • Gather requirements and documentation to analyze and build long term operational enhancement plans related to but not limited; settlements, corporate actions, break handling, UI enhancements, new asset class implementation, reference data and metric reporting.
  • Ability to participate and large and small scale projects, being a proactive contributor with the skills to resolve conflicts between teams around deliverables and meet deadlines.
  • Participate in UAT and release coordination for internal and vendor systems.
  • Business Analyst and liaison for Operations in all regions. 
  • Prioritize features, enhancements, based on operation’s feedback and resource constraints. 
  • Ability to identify areas of improvement, scope requirements and assist in implementation of automation ideas.
  • Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the success of products and features, to drive for continuous growth.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate should have:

  • A Bachelor/Master’s degree.
  • At least 4 years of experience working as a business analyst or product manager with exposure to Financial Services Operations or Post Trade processes, including strong working knowledge of across asset classes: Equity, Fixed Income, Derivatives, FX, Commodities, and Crypto. 
  • Strong experience with spreadsheet software such as Excel or Sheets . Some proficiency with Python and SQL is a plus but not required.
  • Experience with Task Management software such as JIRA is a plus.
  • Strong analytical and communication skills.
