As a Business Analyst at MACH, you will act as the critical bridge between our financial services clients and our software development teams. You will be responsible for eliciting, analysing, and translating complex business requirements, particularly across digital assets, tokenisation, and market infrastructure, into clear, actionable user stories and functional specifications that drive delivery.

This role suits a commercially minded analyst who is equally comfortable in client workshops and sprint planning sessions, someone who understands how capital markets and digital asset ecosystems operate, and who can engage credibly with both business stakeholders and engineering teams to ensure solutions are delivered that genuinely meet client needs.

Responsibilities

  • Lead requirements-gathering sessions with clients, facilitating workshops to elicit, challenge, and validate business needs across digital asset and financial services use cases.

  • Translate business requirements into well-structured user stories, acceptance criteria, and functional specifications suitable for Agile development teams.

  • Document current-state business processes, workflows, and use cases, verifying accuracy with clients and internal teams before baseline sign-off.

  • Identify process improvement opportunities and work with clients and internal stakeholders to design future-state operating models, particularly in the context of digital asset adoption and tokenised workflows.

  • Present and communicate specifications clearly to software development teams, ensuring requirements are understood, estimated, and prioritised appropriately within the product backlog.

  • Act as the client-side voice throughout the development lifecycle, providing ongoing clarification, managing scope, and ensuring delivered functionality remains aligned with original business intent.

  • Support and oversee user acceptance testing (UAT), verifying that software functionality meets agreed requirements and specifications before client sign-off.

  • Support clients in articulating and documenting their own business requirements where needed, acting as a trusted advisor rather than simply an order-taker.

  • Deliver training, presentations, and demonstrations of MACH’s software to clients and internal staff, ensuring adoption and understanding of new functionality.

  • Identify, escalate, and help resolve issues or blockers experienced by clients or internal team members, maintaining clear communication throughout.

Requirements:

  • Fin-Tech, consulting or client-facing experience within financial services, ideally across capital markets, post-trade, or digital assets.

  • Solid understanding of market infrastructure, including trading, clearing, settlement, custody, or tokenisation workflows.

  • Demonstrable experience writing high-quality user stories, acceptance criteria, and functional specifications for software development teams.

  • Familiarity with Agile and Scrum methodologies, including backlog grooming, sprint planning, and working within cross-functional delivery teams.

  • Sufficient technical literacy to engage meaningfully with software developers, understanding of system integrations, APIs, and data flows, without needing to write code.

  • Excellent client relationship skills with a proven track record of building trust and managing expectations across technical and non-technical stakeholders.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex data flows and operational processes and translate them into clear requirements.

  • Proficiency with tools such as Jira, Confluence, Excel, and process modelling or diagramming software (e.g. Visio, Lucidchart).

  • Capable of producing clear, concise, and well-structured documentation including business requirements documents (BRDs), process maps, and test scripts.
