    Job Description

    We are seeking a Business Analyst – Payments to join our Payments Squad within our consumer-facing retail ecommerce platform. You’ll play a critical role in optimising the end-to-end payments experience — ensuring seamless, secure, and high-converting checkout journeys for millions of customers across all the sites within Frasers Group.

    While being a member of the Product team you will also intersect with Engineering, Delivery Experimentation and external payment partners to translate business needs into clear requirements and scalable solutions.

    Key Responsibilities.

    • Product backlog: Partner with Product Managers to define and refine payment-related initiatives, including checkout optimisation, fraud prevention, authorization improvements and alternative payment methods.
    • Requirements gathering: Gather, document, and manage detailed business and functional requirements (business requirements, user stories, acceptance criteria).
    • KPI tracking: Analyse payment performance metrics such as authorisation rates, decline reasons, chargebacks, fraud rates, checkout funnel KPIs and conversion.
    • Agile approach: Collaborate with engineering teams in an Agile squad to ensure accurate implementation of requirements.
    • Documentation: Map and document end-to-end payment flows, including integrations with PSPs, gateways, and third-party providers.
    • Experimentation: Support A/B testing initiatives to improve checkout conversion and customer experience.
    • Platform Architecture & Integrations: Collaborate with Technology and Architecture to ensure alignment with MACH-based architectural principles and support scalable, resilient integrations across a large multi-brand ecosystem.
    • Compliance: Ensure compliance with regulatory and security standards (e.g., PCI considerations).
    • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner closely with Product, Marketing, Digital, Technology, Architecture, UX, Analytics, and Trade / Commercial teams to align priorities, manage dependencies, and deliver integrated outcomes.
    • Efficiency Identify opportunities to improve scalability, reliability, and cost efficiency across the payments ecosystem.
    • Incident Analysis: Assist in incident analysis and post-mortems related to payment failures or degradation.

    Qualifications

    • Experience: 3+ years as a Business Analyst, preferably in ecommerce, fintech or payments.
    • Agile Approach: Experience working in Agile/Scrum product squads.
    • Payments: Strong understanding of online payment flows (authorisation, capture, settlement, refunds). Experience integrating with Payment Service Providers (PSPs) such as Stripe, Adyen, or PayPal. Familiarity with fraud tools and 3D Secure flows.
    • Technical: Experience working with APIs and technical documentation.
    • Analytics: Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and translate insights into actionable requirements.
    • Communication: Ability to simplify complex technical concepts for non-technical audiences.
    • Stakeholders: Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
    • Detail oriented: High attention to detail and strong documentation skills.
    • Ways of Working: Comfortable working in a fast-paced, consumer-facing digital environment.
    • Education: Bachelor's degree in Technology, Engineering, Data, Business, or a related discipline; postgraduate or executive education is advantageous.
