The Business Analyst Intern will analyze AI adoption, support literacy initiatives, document processes, and communicate insights within the AI Centre of Excellence.
At OakNorth, we're on a mission to empower ambitious businesses and the communities they serve. Since 2015, we've lent over $21 billion across the UK and US, helped create more than 58,000 new homes and 36,000 new jobs, and supported hundreds of thousands of personal savers — all while driving economic growth in the markets we serve.
We are looking for a Business Analyst Intern to join OakNorth's AI Centre of Excellence. This is a hands-on role at the heart of our "Become AI Native" ambition — you will work directly with the Head of AI CoE to drive adoption, measure impact, and help the whole organisation understand and use AI more effectively.
Key Responsibilities
- Track and analyse AI adoption across the bank: usage data, engagement trends, literacy assessment results, and programme outcomes — turning raw data into clear insights for senior leadership
- Support the design and delivery of AI literacy initiatives, including workshops, learning journeys, and department-specific enablement sessions
- Document business processes and identify where AI can reduce manual effort, improve quality, or accelerate delivery
- Translate findings and recommendations into clear, well-structured communications: Slack updates, briefing documents, presentations, and stakeholder reports
- Own coordination tasks across CoE initiatives — tracking progress, chasing actions, and keeping projects moving across multiple workstreams
- Help scale solutions that work: once a use case lands well in one team, support rollout to others with evidence, adoption plans, and stakeholder materials
What We’re Looking For
- Strong analytical instinct — comfortable working with data (Excel or similar) to find patterns, build trackers, and produce clean reporting
- Organised and proactive, with a genuine ability to manage multiple priorities without dropping the ball
- Clear, confident communicator — able to write well and adapt style for different audiences, from a quick Slack message to a C-suite briefing
- Genuinely curious and open to continuous learning — you enjoy figuring things out, pick up new tools quickly, and don't wait to be told what to explore next
- Active user of AI tools — hands-on experience with Claude, Cursor, Notion, or similar productivity tools is essential
- Studying or recently graduated in business, economics, engineering, data, or a related field
