Business Analyst – Insurance Analytics & BI Solutions 

London (Hybrid) 

6 month FTC (Likely to be extended)

This position offers the opportunity to work on end-to-end analytics programs supporting enterprise reporting, data platforms, and BI solutions—helping insurance leaders make informed, data-driven decisions. 

 

What the Day Will Look Like 

As a Business Analyst, you will be part of a team of problem solvers focused on translating business requirements into scalable analytics and BI solutions. You will collaborate closely with business stakeholders, product teams, and technical teams to deliver insights and reporting capabilities that support strategic decision-making. 

You will help define analytical use cases, support the delivery of reporting platforms, and ensure requirements are clearly documented, prioritized, and aligned with delivery objectives. Leveraging your analytical expertise, you will work with cross-functional teams to design, develop, and enhance data products and BI reporting capabilities within the insurance analytics ecosystem. 

 

Key Responsibilities 

  • Lead requirements gathering, analysis, and documentation for data and analytics initiatives supporting insurance business functions 

  • Translate business needs into functional specifications, BRDs, and detailed data requirements for engineering and BI teams 

  • Collaborate with data engineers and BI developers to ensure accurate implementation of reporting logic and data transformations 

  • Perform data mapping and gap analysis across source systems to define transformation rules and reporting structures 

  • Facilitate workshops, stakeholder discussions, and discovery sessions to identify business needs and analytics opportunities 

  • Support the development of interactive dashboards and enterprise reporting solutions in partnership with BI teams 

  • Manage requirement backlogs and ensure alignment between business priorities and delivery roadmaps 

  • Coordinate testing and validation activities to ensure data accuracy and reporting quality 

  • Maintain comprehensive documentation for data feeds, reporting metrics, and analytics processes 

  • Partner with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality analytics solutions that support operational and strategic decision-making 

 

Skills and Experience That Will Lead to Success 

  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills 

  • Experience in business analysis roles supporting data or analytics initiatives 

  • Proven ability to translate complex business requirements into data and reporting solutions 

  • Experience collaborating with data engineers, BI developers, and product teams 

  • Solid understanding of data analysis, reporting frameworks, and analytics workflows 

  • Hands-on experience with BI tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or similar visualization platforms 

  • Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving capabilities 

  • Experience working in Agile delivery environments 

  • Ability to manage multiple stakeholders and parallel initiatives effectively 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience 

  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel for data analysis, modelling, and dashboard creation 

  • Strong skills in Microsoft PowerPoint for preparing clear and impactful presentations to stakeholders 

  • Proficiency with other Microsoft Office tools such as Word and Outlook for documentation and communication
