The role is about:

As part of payabl.'s Banking Domain, you will take full ownership of the Card Issuing Programme, working closely with cross-functional teams to deliver exceptional card solutions. This role is integral to expanding our product lineup, including launching virtual and physical cards, enabling seamless day-to-day banking, setting up custom limits, and facilitating various use cases such as employee benefits and ATM withdrawals. 

The goal is to provide insights that help the decision-making process, reach alignment on the requirements and help the Product Manager to make right decisions on the product development. The Business Analyst should drive initiatives within the product development cycle, be a knowledge hub on all data flows and be a bridge between stakeholder requirements and your team.

Reporting Line: Product Manager

What You’ll Do:

  • Liaise with internal and external stakeholders to comprehend business requirements. 
  • Analyze existing processes to identify gaps and opportunities for optimization. 
  • Work closely with the Product Manager to understand business needs, dependencies influencing your scope, and gather requirements to design, develop, and implement solutions by your team and together with other teams. 
  • Document and prioritize requirements and maintain product technical documentation up to date (API docs, wireframes, data flows, etc.). 
  • Ensure a clear understanding of how your product interacts with other products in the organization and contribute to possible optimizations, assisting other teams in understanding your product specifics and tailoring their solutions accordingly. 
  • Participate in understanding the problem, defining the scope together with a relevant PM, gathering requirements to help product teams plan, develop, and deliver the solution, and then maintain and enhance the product. 
  • Maintain a deep understanding of the product architecture to suggest optimizations, provide scalability, security, and performance. 
  • Collaborate with QA engineers to ensure deliveries address business needs and help product managers build seamless end-to-end processes for continuous delivery. 
  • Analyze post-launch performance and provide feedback to product managers and teams. 
  • Drive initiatives within the product development cycle, be a knowledge hub on all data flows, and be a bridge between stakeholder requirements and your team. 
  • Ensure successful delivery by being a key link between technical teams and business stakeholders.

Who You Are:

You are a Business Analyst with expertise in card issuing and payment systems. You excel at gathering requirements, analyzing data, and optimizing processes to drive business success. Your strong communication skills help bridge the gap between technical teams and stakeholders, ensuring seamless product development and compliance with industry standards.

What We`re Looking for :

Experience:

  • Proven experience as a Business Analyst, specifically with card issuing, card acquirers, PSPs, alternative payment providers, banks, financial institutions, and ecommerce platforms (including marketplaces), particularly in payment and financial functionality.
  • Experience with product development processes (discovery, analysis, planning, delivering, testing, and releasing).
  • Ability to create detailed requirements (user stories, acceptance criteria, etc.) and coordinate work within sprint cycles, maintaining backlogs, and participating in planning.
  • Experience working with senior decision-makers and taking end-to-end responsibility for projects.

Skills:

  • Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey insights to various audiences.
  • Experience with data analysis (SQL, R, Python, etc.), with the ability to translate data into actionable insights.
  • Ability to back up opinions with numbers and use data visualization tools (a plus).
  • Experience with UML tools to build process flows.

Soft Skills:

  • A strong sense of ownership and accountability in everything you do.
  • Excellent organizational skills and the ability to handle related documentation effectively.

Our Hiring Process:

Step 1: Initial Interview - A 30-40 minute conversation with our Talent Acquisition team to discuss your experience, career goals, and expectations.

Step 2: Hiring Manager Interview - A online video discussion for 45-60 minutes with Product Manager and BA Lead focused on diving deeper into your experience and skills.

Step 3: Technical Assignment - A take-home test designed to showcase your skills. You’ll have up to 5-7 days to complete it in a single attempt (estimated time: 60-90 minutes).

Step 4: Final Behavioral Interview - A 45-60 minute discussion focused on team fit and collaboration with our Product Lead and CTO. This is your chance to dive deeper into our culture and align on expectations.
