The role is about:

As part of payabl.'s Banking Domain, you will take full ownership of the Card Issuing Programme, working closely with cross-functional teams to deliver exceptional card solutions. This role is integral to expanding our product lineup, including launching virtual and physical cards, enabling seamless day-to-day banking, setting up custom limits, and facilitating various use cases such as employee benefits and ATM withdrawals. 

The goal is to provide insights that help the decision-making process, reach alignment on the requirements and help the Product Manager to make right decisions on the product development. The Business Analyst should drive initiatives within the product development cycle, be a knowledge hub on all data flows and be a bridge between stakeholder requirements and your team. 

You will: 

  • Liaise with internal and external stakeholders to comprehend business requirements. 
  • Analyze existing processes to identify gaps and opportunities for optimization. 
  • Work closely with the Product Manager to understand business needs, dependencies influencing your scope, and gather requirements to design, develop, and implement solutions by your team and together with other teams. 
  • Document and prioritize requirements and maintain product technical documentation up to date (API docs, wireframes, data flows, etc.). 
  • Ensure a clear understanding of how your product interacts with other products in the organization and contribute to possible optimizations, assisting other teams in understanding your product specifics and tailoring their solutions accordingly. 
  • Participate in understanding the problem, defining the scope together with a relevant PM, gathering requirements to help product teams plan, develop, and deliver the solution, and then maintain and enhance the product. 
  • Maintain a deep understanding of the product architecture to suggest optimizations, provide scalability, security, and performance. 
  • Collaborate with QA engineers to ensure deliveries address business needs and help product managers build seamless end-to-end processes for continuous delivery. 
  • Analyze post-launch performance and provide feedback to product managers and teams. 
  • Drive initiatives within the product development cycle, be a knowledge hub on all data flows, and be a bridge between stakeholder requirements and your team. 
  • Ensure successful delivery by being a key link between technical teams and business stakeholders.

What we need: 

  • Proven experience as a Business Analyst working either with card issuing, card acquirers or PSPs, alternative payment providers, banks, financial institutions, and ecommerce platforms, including Marketplaces, dealing with payment and financial functionality. 
  • Deep understanding of product development processes (discovery and analysis, planning, delivering, testing, releasing, etc.). 
  • Ability to create detailed requirements for engineering teams (user stories, acceptance criteria, etc.), consider dependencies and assess potential risks, coordinate work within sprint cycles (maintain backlog and actively participate in planning), and handle related documentation. 
  • Excellent at communicating and presentation skills.
  • Experience in data analysis insights (SQL, R, or Python, etc.). to any type of audience in a clear and actionable way.
  • Sense of ownership and assuming end-to-end responsibility in everything you do.
  • Ability to back your opinions with numbers. 
  • Experience of working with senior decision-makers.
  • Experience with data visualization tools is a plus. 
  • Experience in building process flows using UML tools.
