About the Role

The Designer will be the creative backbone of the BOB Marketing team, responsible for shaping and protecting the visual identity of one of the most ambitious projects in the Bitcoin ecosystem.

This is a hands-on, maker role - you will own the BOB brand day-to-day, produce a high volume of polished assets, and collaborate directly with engineering and product teams to communicate technical ideas with clarity and visual impact.

The ideal candidate combines strong foundational design skills with fluency in motion graphics and video, plus the ability to actively leverage AI-powered tools to accelerate creative output. BOB does not work with a creative or social media agency, so self-sufficiency and creative range are essential.

The designer will report to the BOB Head of Marketing, who is based in the UAE, plus support the Social Media & Content Manager, based in Germany. This is a remote role, but good timezone overlap is required, so candidates based in Europe will be strongly preferred.

Key Responsibilities

Brand Guardianship - Own and evolve the BOB brand, ensuring consistency across every touchpoint - from social posts to investor decks. You are the first and last line of defence for visual quality.

  • Develop, maintain and enforce comprehensive BOB brand guidelines covering typography, colour, iconography, illustration style and design
  • Act as the internal brand authority, reviewing and approving creative output from partners, ecosystem projects and third-party collaborators
  • Conduct regular brand audits to identify inconsistencies and drive continuous improvement across all channels
  • Manage a centralised, well-organised asset library accessible to the wider team
  • Evolve the brand system as BOB grows, proposing refreshes and extensions that remain true to the Bitcoin-native identity

Marketing Templates & Asset Production - Build and maintain an efficient production engine so the team can move fast without sacrificing quality. Create a library of flexible, on-brand templates that scale across channels and campaigns.

  • Design and maintain a comprehensive template library for social media, paid advertising, email, and event collateral
  • Produce high-quality, production-ready assets for product launches, ecosystem partner announcements, technology updates and community campaigns
  • Create print and digital materials for events and conferences, including booth graphics, banners, merchandise and presentation decks
  • Collaborate closely with the Social Media & Content Manager to ensure all creative assets meet platform specifications and perform well

Creative Development - Push BOB's creative output beyond the expected. Bring a point of view to campaigns, experiment with new formats, and translate complex blockchain concepts into visuals that resonate with both crypto-native and mainstream audiences.

  • Lead the creative concepting and execution of campaigns across awareness, acquisition and community activation
  • Design infographics, data visualisations and explainer graphics that make BOB's technical architecture and protocol benefits accessible and compelling
  • Develop illustration systems and custom iconography that extend the BOB visual language
  • Monitor design trends within the crypto and broader digital product space to bring fresh, relevant creative ideas to the team
  • Actively experiment with AI-powered design tools to accelerate ideation, generate creative variations and expand output capacity

Motion Graphics & Video Editing - Bring BOB's story to life through motion. Own the creation of explainer videos, animated social content and interview highlight reels that communicate the BOB vision with energy and precision.

  • Create animated explainer videos that break down BOB's technology for developer and consumer audiences
  • Edit and produce interview highlight reels, founder content and event recordings for distribution across social and owned channels
  • Design and animate social-first short-form video content optimised for Twitter/X, LinkedIn and emerging platforms
  • Build and maintain a library of reusable motion elements, transitions and animated templates consistent with the BOB brand
  • Utilise AI video and audio tools to enhance production speed and quality

Web Design & Product Collaboration - Serve as the design bridge between Marketing, Product and Engineering. Help ensure BOB's web presence and product interfaces reflect the brand while meeting the high standards of the developer community BOB serves.

  • Collaborate with the product and engineering teams to contribute design input on web pages, landing pages, developer documentation and product UI components
  • Design and deliver web assets, including banners, hero images and interactive landing page mockups, working within established design systems
  • Produce Figma-ready designs and specifications that can be handed off cleanly to engineers
  • Ability to vibe code simple landing pages and dashboards is a big plus

RequirementsWhat You Bring

Experience & Portfolio

  • Minimum 4 years of graphic design experience, with a strong portfolio demonstrating range across digital, social, motion and brand work
  • Demonstrable experience working in a fast-paced startup, tech, fintech or crypto environment - agency or in-house
  • Proven ability to work independently and take full ownership of creative projects from brief to delivery
  • Experience working cross-functionally with marketing, product and engineering stakeholders

Design Skills & Tools

  • Expert proficiency in the full Adobe Creative Suite - Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, After Effects, Premiere Pro
  • Strong working knowledge of Figma for web and product design collaboration
  • Demonstrated motion graphics and video editing skills, with a portfolio of animated and video work
  • Experience with AI-powered creative tools (Midjourney, Firefly, Runway, Stable Diffusion, Descript or equivalents) - this is a meaningful differentiator, not a nice-to-have
  • Strong typographic sensibility and command of layout, colour and visual hierarchy

Crypto & Technical Appreciation

  • Genuine interest in and understanding of blockchain technology, Bitcoin, Ethereum and the wider web3 ecosystem
  • Ability to absorb technically complex subject matter and translate it into clear, engaging visual communication
  • Familiarity with crypto-native design conventions and the visual language of the Bitcoin and Ethereum communities

Core Competencies

  • Exceptional organisational skills and a systematic approach to asset management and project tracking
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English - able to present creative rationale clearly to stakeholders
  • High attention to detail with a commitment to quality and consistency
  • Adaptable and comfortable with shifting priorities in a high-growth, fast-moving environment
  • Self-motivated and entrepreneurial - you bring ideas to the table, not just execution
  • Collaborative by nature, with experience building strong working relationships across disciplines
  • Product mindset with an eye for performance optimization (conversions rates, economic impact of decisions, and focus on product KPIs)

Benefits
  • Research-oriented team
  • Solve novel problems
  • Token options
  • Remote working
  • 30-day vacation
  • Allowance for a co-working space
  • Yearly retreat
