About the role .
Love building brands people know, love, and bring home every week?
We're looking for a passionate and commercially savvy Brand Manager to join our Retail Potato team on a 12-month parental leave contract. This is your chance to make a real impact on one of Australia's most recognised and loved food portfolios, helping shape the future of a category that's at the heart of family meals across ANZ.
Sitting at the intersection of consumer insight, innovation, creativity, and commercial strategy, you'll play a key role in driving growth for McCain's largest retail portfolio. If you're energised by a fast-paced FMCG environment, thrive on turning insights into action, and love seeing your work on shelf, in market, and in consumers' homes, we'd love to hear from you.
What you'll be doing.
  • Support the development and execution of annual brand plans for the Retail Potato portfolio, ensuring alignment with business objectives and consumer needs.
  • Leverage consumer, customer, category, and competitive insights to identify growth opportunities and inform marketing strategies.
  • Lead cross-functional innovation projects from concept through to launch, delivering against quality, timeline, and financial targets.
  • Develop and execute integrated marketing campaigns and activation programs that build brand equity and drive commercial performance.
  • Partner closely with Sales, Category, Shopper Marketing, Finance, R&D, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, and Procurement teams to deliver business outcomes.
  • Monitor portfolio performance, including brand health, pricing, promotional effectiveness, forecasting, and profitability metrics.
  • Analyse market trends, consumer behaviours, and competitive activity to identify opportunities and risks.
  • Track and evaluate campaign, innovation, and portfolio performance, using insights to optimise future plans and investments.
  • Ensure all marketing activity aligns with McCain's brand strategy, positioning, and visual identity guidelines.
  • Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders and external agency partners to deliver best-in-class execution.

What you'll need to be successful.
  • Degree qualification in Marketing, Business, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 4 years' experience in brand management, ideally within FMCG, food and beverage, or a related consumer goods environment.
  • Proven experience managing a brand portfolio and delivering complex cross-functional projects.
  • Strong new product development (NPD) and project management experience.
  • Demonstrated commercial acumen with the ability to interpret financial, market, and consumer data to drive decision-making.
  • Strategic thinker with strong problem-solving skills and a growth mindset.
  • Excellent stakeholder management, influencing, communication, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment while maintaining accountability and ownership.
  • Experience working with agencies and managing marketing investment budgets is highly regarded.
