About the role

We have a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Brand Communications Manager to join our EMEA marketing team in the Packaging Division. This role will require the individual to lead, govern, and evolve the DS Smith brand across corporate, product and customer touchpoints,  ensuring a cohesive, compelling and market relevant brand presence during a strategically significant period for the organisation.

Once in role, you will own the brand framework and brand architecture, ensuring clarity and consistency across all channels, markets and stakeholder groups. A key part of delivery will be partnering closely with senior corporate personnel and functions (Corporate Affairs, Investor Relations, HR, Legal), as well as Strategic Marketing, Product Marketing, Innovation, and Sales teams, to define and embed a strategic brand narrative that strengthens the DS Smith value proposition and supports business growth.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Own and evolve DS Smith’s strategic brand framework, communication narrative and architecture across divisions, regions, and functions

  • Establish and enforce clear governance processes enabling compliant brand adoption across the business, and across all channels

  • Support leadership and internal functions in representing the brand with accuracy, clarity and consistency

  • Develop and activate multi-channel brand campaigns, aligned to the brand and commercial priorities

  • Work with Strategic Marketing, Customer Experience, and Innovation teams to ensure category, product and solution narratives are consistently articulated throughout the customer journey

  • Partner with corporate functions (Corporate Affairs/ HR) to ensure alignment between corporate messaging, reputation-building activity, and brand strategy frameworks. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop cohesive multichannel content and campaigns that reflect the full brand ecosystem

  • Ensure all brand communications reinforce DS Smith’s differentiation, reputation, and long‑term strategic positioning

  • Provide strategic brand input into major initiatives including corporate announcements, innovation launches, customer programmes, and employer brand activity

  • Monitor the DS Smith brand’s perception and messaging effectiveness, using insights to refine and evolve the strategy

  • Act as a trusted advisor to senior stakeholders across corporate, commercial, and technical teams on Brand strategy and implementation. 

About You

  • Previous experience in a brand focused marketing or communications role, with a solid background in corporate brand management and strategic messaging

  • Proven experience delivering multi-channel product and customer level brand campaigns

  • Ability to influence senior stakeholders and navigate cross-functional environments in large organisations

  • Expert understanding of brand governance, narrative development, and brand architecture frameworks

  • Skilled in managing multiple concurrent brand initiatives, with high attention to detail and strategic oversight

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to simplify complex information

  • Passionate about protecting, strengthening, and evolving a purpose driven B2B brand.
