As Strategic Projects Lead working within Group Functions, you’ll support the Chief Brand & External Communications Officer to ensure seamless coordination of strategic initiatives, projects, and stakeholder engagements. You’ll play a pivotal role in fostering team connectivity, managing cross-functional priorities, and shaping Bupa’s external presence.

This is a unique opportunity to support the Group Brand & External Communications team and to build the broader global Brand and Communications network at Bupa, championing collaboration and innovation across these diverse, high-performing teams.

How you’ll help us make health happen

Preparation, Planning & Support.

  • Support the Chief Brand & External Communications Officer with preparation of the content for selected internal and external stakeholder meetings, including briefing materials, agendas, co-ordination of presentations and action logs.

  • Support the Chief Brand and Communications Officer with the organisation and delivery of our Global Brand and External Communications offsite meetings, All-Hands events and awards co-ordinating with colleagues and managing external partners and agencies where appropriate.

  • Support the Group Brand and Communications team with annual planning cycle and associated materials to ensure timely and co-ordinated approach and opportunity for consultation and input with wider stakeholders.

Champion the work of the Group Brand & External Communications teams internally and externally.

  • Look for opportunities to showcase the progress and achievements of the Group and Global Brand and Communications functions externally. Researching and recommending relevant awards, panel sessions, conferences and media interviews that help to raise the profile of the team and their impact.

  • Create and maintain a rhythm of internal updates and activities to engage the wider Global Brand and Communications teams and the wider business so that we are more connected that ever and aligned on shared goals. Optimise our internal Communications platform Workvivo and any other recommended channels.

The role is responsible for staying ahead of market and industry trends and ensuring the Brand and External Communications teams remain informed and up to date. They will also research and facilitate access to professional development opportunities that will ensure the team’s skillset remains relevant and fresh.

  • You will recommend, and coordinate guest speakers and external networks within the Brand and Communications field to enhance team skills and capabilities.

  • This insight will be used to support the ongoing development of the Group and Global Brand and Communications functions such as leading the facilitation of function specific development sessions, curated resources, and external best‑practice sharing—that directly contribute to building the team’s skills, confidence, and overall professional growth.

  • Additionally, the role will help maximise the value of our ongoing membership with The Marketing Society.

Find opportunities for continuous improvement that will support team engagement within Group Brand & External Communications.

  • Using the feedback from our pulse surveys and conversations with team members, research and recommend opportunities to protect and enhance the Group and Global team culture and engagement.

What you'll bring

  • Proven experience in communications or project management (preferably within a Comms function) within a complex, matrixed organisation.

  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with an ability to prepare clear, compelling materials, in particular in Microsoft PowerPoint.

  • Demonstrated ability to build effective working relationships across diverse teams and geographies.

  • Curious, proactive, and solutions-oriented mindset.

  • Able to operate independently within defined parameters, collaborating with internal teams to deliver assigned initiatives.
