Install, calibrate, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair biomedical equipment onboard cruise ships. Perform inspections, preventive maintenance, manage recalls and parts sourcing, keep accurate service records, and collaborate with medical staff and ship engineers to ensure device compliance and passenger care continuity.
We are seeking a Biomedical Technologists to join our team and provide biomedical services onboard cruise ships.
Responsibilities:
- Install, calibrate, and maintain biomedical equipment onboard cruise ships in accordance with manufacturer specifications and regulatory requirements.
- Monitor the performance and functionality of medical devices, ensuring optimal operation and adherence to quality standards in a maritime environment.
- Conduct regular inspections and preventive maintenance tasks to identify and address issues proactively, considering the unique challenges of operating at sea.
- Perform troubleshooting and repairs on biomedical equipment, diagnosing problems and implementing effective solutions while onboard.
- Monitor equipment recalls and safety alerts, coordinating with manufacturers and regulatory agencies as necessary to ensure compliance and passenger safety.
- Maintain accurate records of equipment maintenance, repairs, and service history onboard cruise ships.
- Source OEM parts and components as needed for equipment maintenance and repairs, considering logistics challenges associated with maritime operations.
- Collaborate with onboard medical staff, ship engineers, and other stakeholders to support the effective use of medical technology and ensure passenger care continuity during voyages.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in biomedical engineering, electronics, or a related field. Relevant certifications or training programs may be considered.
- Proven experience in biomedical equipment management, including installation, maintenance, and repairs in a maritime environment or similar challenging conditions.
- Strong technical skills and familiarity with a wide range of medical devices and equipment.
- Knowledge of regulatory standards and compliance requirements related to biomedical equipment management, with an understanding of maritime regulations and safety protocols.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail, with the ability to adapt to the unique challenges of working onboard cruise ships.
- Effective communication skills, with the ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and external stakeholders in a maritime setting.
- Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks effectively while onboard cruise ships, demonstrating adaptability and resourcefulness in a dynamic environment.
