To create effective and engaging learning experiences that facilitate the acquisition of knowledge and skills with our global colleagues on a range of topics and in multiple languages working with SME’s to translate the subject matter into both face to face facilitated workshops and online digital eLearning.   

The role will support our Technical learning & Development Manager to create our global standards of training content to support a centrally driven way of developing and assessing our Technicians with local execution by planning, managing and co-ordinating the effective design of a global training curriculum providing all levels of Technicians with the right skills and knowledge needed to set them up for success and driving continuous improvement of all training.

Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities

Technical Expertise:

  • To have broad L&D experience to understand the ways in which people learn.
  • To work with Subject Matter Experts (SME’s) and translate content into a meaningful training and assessment experiences for our technicians – both online and face to face training design.
  • Select and apply appropriate instructional design models and methodologies to create engaging and effective learning and assessment experiences.
  • To research, design, and develop learning and assessment programmes and supporting materials in response to identified training needs and in alignment with organisational goals and objectives.
  • Select course content, learning and assessment activities, training tools, and delivery mechanisms in alignment with strategic organisational learning roadmap.
  • Manage end-to-end learning projects, including defining scope, managing resources, and key milestones.
  • Oversees development of content or programmes with external partner vendors and/or internal Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) in support of an assigned deliverables.
  • To catalogue and ‘version control’ all technician training material.
  • Markets training programmes and supports and sustains transfer of learning through communications such as company intranet, emails, memos, videos, and digital signage to communicate and announce training programs and initiatives.
  • Supports train-the-trainer sessions and online meetings where needed.

Stakeholder management:

  • Work in partnership with business units to support the change of a local approach to developing training and assessment to a centrally driven way of developing and assessing our Technicians with local execution.
  • Support on all local amends needed ensuring alignment to the global standard.
  • To work in partnership with countries to translate training materials aligned to the global standard.
  • To adopt an enterprise approach on all Technician training.

Programme management :

  • Plan, manage and co-ordinate the translations of materials in line with the global standard.
  • Drive continuous improvement and work with key stakeholders to update content in line with new tools, technology, processes, skills required etc

Reporting impact

  • Provides oversight of training analytics. Evaluates training programs for effectiveness and desired outcomes.

Content creation

  • Shape the creation of the training materials considering different learning styles.
  • Support with the creation of the Technician career pathway curriculum in line with the Technician grading structure.

  • Ability to deliver quality at scale, and pace set the progress required
  • Broad L&D expertise to understand the best ways in which training can be delivered.
  • Planning and organising skills

Desirable

  • Adobe InDesign and Photoshop experience to create ‘handout’ resources to accompany training material
  • Use of video editing tools and software such as iClone and Vyond
  • Experienece of designing training initiatives in an operational environment
  • Project/programme management skills 
  • Strong understanding of the opportunities and challenges which Technicians face in the field which may impact delivery
