Job Description

VVB Engineering provide complete solutions for mechanical and electrical systems; with expertise ranging across the rail, road, airport, power and utilities and construction sectors. We specialise in the construction, maintenance and refurbishment of road and rail tunnels and we are currently recruiting a Bid Manager, based from our Chelmsford office. 

This is a key role within the Work Winning department, and supports the business by planning and managing the bid processes. You will be accountable for the development and submission of tenders and proposals, within set timeframes and to the highest quality.

Key Responsibilities:

·Identify, develop and update tender portals and frameworks

·Review and interpret client requirements and communicate with the wider work winning team

·Support with the creation and implementation of Bid matrixes

·Identify departments internally who will need to provide input to the tender

·Prepare bid timelines and action plans

·Participate in proposal, bid and tender reviews

·Coordinate and ensure the delivery of compliant, professional bids within defined timeframes

·Seek customer feedback both internally and externally

What we’re looking for:

  • Knowledge of Bid best practices and methodologies
  • Knowledge and experience within the M&E and Infrastructure industries
  • HND/HNC or equivalent
  • Degree qualified in related discipline
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to liaise at all levels
  • Ability to build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Good management and strong leadership skills
  • Excellent project management skills
  • Experience within a Bid Manager position
  • Proven and demonstrable experience of managing multiple bids of £10m and over
