Candidates will be required to complete a skills matrix as part of the evaluation process. The matrix includes a self-assessment (scoring from 1 to 5) and a detailed description of proficiency for each skill listed.

Primary Responsibilities:

Below are their key responsibilities:

1) System Design and Configuration:

  • Design, implement, and maintain Base24 systems to handle high-volume transaction processing.

  • Ensure smooth integration of ATM, POS, and switch networks for card payments.

3) Maintenance and Troubleshooting:

  • Monitor and optimize system performance on HP NonStop (Tandem) systems.

  • Diagnose and resolve issues in transaction processing, device handlers, and network communication.

4) Programming and Development:

  • Develop and debug software using programming languages like TACL, Cobol, C/C++, and Java.

  • Modify existing systems or create custom solutions to meet business requirements.

5) Security and Compliance:

  • Implement encryption, fraud prevention, and data security protocols.

  • Adhere to compliance frameworks for financial systems.

6) Testing and Implementation:

  • Test transaction flows using simulators (e.g., Iliad, Paragon).

  • Deploy updates, patches, and enhancements to production environments.

Skillset of a Base24 Engineer:

  • Technical expertise: Deep knowledge of Base24 architecture, HP NonStop systems, and transaction processing standards like ISO8583.

  • Financial systems familiarity: Experience with card payment interfaces, authorization systems, and regulatory compliance.

  • Problem-solving: Strong debugging skills to identify and fix real-time transaction errors.

  • Programming: Proficiency in system-level programming and scripting for custom solutions.
