AI Engineering at Capital on Tap
We’re looking for an experienced Software Engineer who is passionate about moving into the AI space to join our AI Engineering team to help us build the best credit card and payment products for small businesses.
The AI Engineering team is tasked with delivering AI-enabled products, both customer-facing and internal. It currently consists of 2 AI engineers, and we are looking for software engineers to join the team.
This is a unique opportunity for a skilled C# engineer to transition into the rapidly growing field of AI.
What You’ll Be Doing
You'll work alongside our existing AI Engineers. Your role will be to help deliver fully-productionised AI-assisted systems, such as a customer-facing chatbot. In order to do this, you will own the software development lifecycle, partner with Product Managers, and troubleshoot issues.
- Work with the AI Engineers with the building and maintenance of AI products (Python and C#), from building robust services to ensuring their seamless deployment and maintenance
- Work closely with other engineering teams to integrate with other internal systems, in order to serve up data to the AI systems (rest APIs)
- Take charge of automated testing of AI systems to ensure they are bulletproof before production
- Work with our Platform teams to ensure all our infrastructure adheres to best practices
- Enable the AI Engineers to deliver fast, by ensuring that systems are scalable, reliable and safe
We’re Looking For 🔎
Required skills:
- Minimum 3-4 years of C# experience
- Track record of delivering systems into production
- Strong understanding of automated testing
- Willingness to learn Python (Python knowledge is a bonus but not a requirement)
- Willingness to learn how to deliver products that interact heavily with LLMs
Nice to have skills:
- Python knowledge

- Pydantic AI, Azure Doc Intelligence, Langchain/Langgraph, LlamaIndex
Interview Process 🤝
- First stage: 30-minute intro, CV review, and values with Talent Partner
- Second stage: 45-minute “Tech Chat” with Team Manager
- Final stage: 90-minute Code Pairing + 30-minute Values Interview
