The AWS Cloud Engineering Team provide a scalable, performant and best practice platform for QRT’s application and core teams to utilize in deploying cloud native services. This team is critical in ensuring that applications are built on a strong AWS foundation from the perspective of governance, security and connectivity.

Your future role within QRT

We are seeking an experienced technologist to work within our AWS Cloud Engineering team to support the growth and maturation of our cloud network. The role is expected to involve the following activities:

  • Develop and manage our complex global AWS network architecture
  • Join a dynamic, fast-paced environment with extensive opportunity for personal growth
  • Use infrastructure-as-code to ensure scale and consistency of the environment
  • Use automated deployment to ensure that changes can be controlled in an appropriate manner
  • Explore and onboard new AWS services and features as part of continuous improvement of the AWS platform
  • Contribute to the ongoing improvement of our network governance and observability practices
  • Ensure that traffic is observable in a usable fashion
  • Develop strong, positive relationships with Security, IT and End User teams

Your present skillset

  • 3+ years of experience in a cloud engineering role with a strong focus on AWS
  • Solid understanding of Networking fundamentals including IPv4 subnetting, TCP/IP, BGP, DNS, HTTP and DHCP
  • Good knowledge and experience of using AWS networking services to include: VPC, Transit Gateway, PrivateLink, Direct Connect and Route53
  • Demonstratable experience in using Infrastructure as Code and programming languages such as Terraform and Python
  • Ability to work independently to troubleshoot networking issues using AWS and/or 3rd Party tools
  • Demonstrable ability to communicate and collaborate effectively as part of a wider team
  • Desirable to have experience or a willingness to learn in the following areas:
    • Newer AWS Technologies: CloudWan, Route53 Profiles, Lattice
    • IP Address Management tooling such as AWS VPC IPAM or Infoblox
    • Load Balancing: GWLB, ALB, NLB, API Gateway
    • Security: Firewalls, Shield, WAF
    • Open Source and Third Party technologies to complement AWS tooling
    • Logging and Observability: Flow Logs, Cloudwatch, OpenSearch etc
    • IPv6 architectures on AWS
