Your future role within QRT

We are seeking a highly skilled AWS Scheduling Tool Specialist to develop and optimize an AWS-based scheduling system supporting electronic market-making and other front-office desks. This role is critical in ensuring our alpha computation strategies achieve peak efficiency by leveraging high-performance computing (HPC) and low-level programming expertise.

  • Development and Maintenance of AWS Scheduling Tool:
    • Design, implement, and maintain a robust AWS-based scheduling system for electronic market-making functions.
    • Optimize the scheduling tool to efficiently manage compute loads across AWS resources.
  • HPC Optimization:
    • Enhance alpha computation strategies using parallel computing techniques and efficient resource utilization.
    • Implement solutions that minimize latency and maximize throughput in data processing pipelines.
  • Low-Level Programming:
    • Develop and optimize performance-critical components in languages such as C, C++, or Rust.
    • Identify and address computational bottlenecks to improve execution speed.
  • Collaboration with Front Office Desks:
    • Work closely with traders, quants, and technologists to align computational strategies with business needs.
    • Translate complex requirements into scalable, efficient, and secure technical solutions.
  • Performance Monitoring and Troubleshooting:
    • Build tools and dashboards for system performance and reliability monitoring.
    • Address inefficiencies and failures in the scheduling system or alpha computation workflows proactively.

Your present skillset

  • Strong experience with AWS services, including EC2, ECS, Lambda, Batch, Step Functions, and S3.
  • Advanced programming skills in languages like C, C++, Rust, Python, or Go.
  • In-depth knowledge of low-level system optimizations, memory management, and CPU/GPU performance tuning.
  • Experience in designing and tuning distributed systems for latency-sensitive workloads.
  • Familiarity with electronic trading systems, market making, or financial front-office operations.
  • Solid understanding of alpha computation strategies in a trading environment.
  • Expertise in HPC technologies such as MPI, CUDA, or OpenMP is nice to have.
